When should I reapply for a new EAD card?

Wishing everyone in the forums are safe and doing well in their visa journey.

My wife's EAD card expires in January 2021. We filed our AOS back in August 2020. Currently, we are just waiting for the interview for the conditional "green card". I do not know when that will be as each case is different. I read articles in the forums that it takes less than a year after filing and others are waiting for more than a year.

I hope we get interview by August or September, four or five months before her current EAD card expires. However, if we don't get an interview appointment by September, when should we start the process of applying for another EAD card? She has a great job now and we don't want her to lose it if we don't get her green card by January. We don't want to wait the last minute to apply as it took 5 months to get the first EAD card after filing.

Any insights or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Have anyone here applied for a renewal of EAD card?

"Choice of Address & Agent" greyed out, plus no button to "Add Applicant" for CR-2 child's case.

So when I received the NVC e-mails for my wife and step-daughters CR1 and CR2 cases. I was immediately able to pay the fees. While I can only log into the cases separately, my step-daughters case did automatically 'recognize' that I had already paid the AOS fee on my wife's case so in that respect they appear to be tied together. All the payments cleared and I was able to upload and submit the AOS and all of the documents. I have completed and summited the DS-260 for each of them, and I am able to upload all the civil documents for each of them. I'm just waiting to the NBI Clearance to be able to Submit everything but it appears that if I had everything ready it would let me submit it all. All of that stuff looks fine.

What I have not been able to do, and it is greyed out and unavailable on both cases is "Choice of Address & Agent" which I assume is the DS-261. It seems that step in the process simply vanished. So my question is, has that step, the DS-261, ACTUALLY vanished since the "Choice of Address & Agent" seems kind of irrelevant anyways since it's all online. Or is this some kind of glitch that is likely to turn around and hold everything up.

My other concern is that in the instructions and FAQ for the NVC website it pictures buttons under "Applicant Information" that would allow me to add my step-daughters case under my wife's case so presumably they are together under the same login. Those buttons are completely absent on either my wife's or step-daughters cases. I can log into either case separately and everything looks completely correct. The cases 'seem' tied together since it automatically recognized the payment of the AOS fee on both cases. But there is no option to combine them. Is that normal?

Filipino Middle Name Issue Again!

Hello all, I've found several posts on this topic here and read through them but none are as advanced as our case.

After we were married in Arizona in 2017, my wife began using the traditional Filipino surname construction. Her SS card was changed to this name, and an AZ State ID with this name. We filed AOS, EAD and advanced parole using this name with no issues until our interview. The officer at the interview mentioned that the middle name was odd and we explained that we used the traditional Filipino surname construction. He did not say anything after that. A few months later, we get her greencard in the mail and of course it had the mother's maiden name as the middle name. At this time, we had no idea that we were wrong in changing the middle name like that. I believed that getting an SS card and State ID in that name facilitated a "legal" name change. So we filed an I-90 to have USCIS correct the greencard to have the fathers surname as the middle name and they did it! New greencard was mailed out with the traditional name and we thought everything was fixed. My wife also got her NY State Driver's License with that name on it after we moved here. After this, we file ROC on time using the same name and now, about 17 months later, we get an RFE because the middle name is wrong. Also, like most others, we were transferred a few months ago to a new service center.

I feel like the best way to handle this would be to just go to the county courthouse (I live in NY state now) and have her middle name legally changed on paper even though all of her documents already have that name and provide that court order to USCIS. I'm pretty sure that even if I point out that they already issued a greencard with the name that they say is wrong, they will just tell me to pound sand and fix it. We filed ROM prior to COVID hitting too and her passport was renewed with the traditional name style. I think it will be more of a hassle changing the name everywhere else here and I don't even want to think about doing anything with her Philippine Passport right now! They have also given us the maximum amount of time to reply, this is due sometime in August.

Has anyone else had this happen and got it corrected without changing the middle name in court?

Hello,

I received my green card earlier this year and I got my Covid vaccine (J&J) last month. I m looking to travel home to the Philippines to visit my family. Will my Covid vaccine card be honored or am I still going to be subjected to the 10-14 days quarantine period in some hotel after I land in NAIA? Thanks in advance!
