Haven't been in here in a long time. Been 16 years since I joined VisaJourney to help me get my wife here from the Philippines.. She was a school Principal in the Philippines. Here she joined the Tennessee Air National Guard as an enlisted Airman. She served 6 years while reinventing herself as a nurse. After those 6 years, she received a direct commission from President Trump as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force, on active duty, in 2019. We were first stationed in Germany for 4 years. Now we are at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, in Alaska. She is currently a Captain, but is due to be promoted to Major next year. We have one son, who is almost 15. He will be applying for the Air Force Academy in two years. I am an Army veteran who homeschools him.

Hello! I know I've made quite a pile of posts lately these past few weeks, I just havent been able to rest. The timeline goes like this : March 31st 2024 - first day of medical, told to do a psych eval, come back for 2nd day on April 21, 2024 April 4, 2024 - biometrics April 14, 2024 - interview at the embassy. issued a 221g pink slip, no medical result. April 21, 2024 - second day of medical, did psych eval, vaccines etc., hospital said results would be sent to embassy soon. April 28, 2024 - passport dropped off. waiting game Today, May 13, 2024, we received a call saying that the passport would be returned to us and double-checked if we wanted to pick it up or get it delivered. We said delivered, confirmed location, and were told that it would be 3-7 business days (as we are outside of Manila). I didn't catch what the lady said clearly Does the fact that they're returning my passport mean that the visa will come with it too? Is there a chance it could be rejected or is it guaranteed to be the final step?? I thought the anxiety would be over by the time we received the call, but the uncertainty of not knowing what's next is still a bother. Thank you to those who answer!

My wife and I live in Hong Kong, She's resided in several places in the distant past. She just completed and submitted the DS260 and immediately a document list was created on the CEAC portal. The issue is to proceed with obtaining documents especially the police certificates from Hong Kong she is required to submit the 'NVC documents' letter with an address to mail the certificate to. The list on the CEAC portal is printable but the document list is in a scroll box and not all the documents come out. Should we expect an 'email' or 'letter' from NVC? The HONG KONG counsulate says the document will be mailed directly to them and they will Laise with the NVC. How does that work in terms of submission of the remaining documents to the CEAC do we simply upload a print out of that to the NVC once we have uploaded all the other documents?

I just signed the i-751 as the USC spouse and noticed a biometrics clause for me on pg 8. I'm a natural born USC. I went back to the i130 and see it's on there too. Who gets called to do this? Is this just for those convicted of Adam Walsh crimes? I don't have any criminal record, aside from a traffic ticket or 2 a long time ago. I tried searching for this and there's many posts about spouses accidentally getting notices but nothing about actually having to provide. I'm uncomfortable with this for obvious reasons. https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-751.pdf

I came to the U.S. 1 year ago, and immediately after I received my green card, I joined the military. After almost 2 months of training, I received my citizenship. I am now planning to petition my mother using IR5, but I am here to ask people with similar experience. Living in the dorms, how would it affect my petition? Can I add my mother as a dependent to DEERS? Is this even possible at all?
