I am going to temporarily break my New Years resolution which is to spend much less time online for 2022 and post something that may be of concern with people who may have interviews soon at USEM. :)

Due to Manila going to Level 3, I have heard that USEM has stopped processing visas again. This is 2nd hand information and I dont know for sure if its true, however if there are people on here who have recently scheduled an interview, you may want to keep the board updated if you have received any interview cancellations etc. For anyone who has to travel to Manila, you may want to do some double checks before proceeding. My assumption is case counts will start significantly increasing again leaving it likely Manila could move to Level 4 evenutally.

Chancy

Before my husband and I got married, we had a conversation about where I want to live --

Chancy: I'm ok with anywhere that is not a war zone and that has stable internet access. But I can't stand the cold.

Future-MrChancy: Ooh, you'll love it here in Louisiana! It's so hot and humid, people wear shorts on Christmas!

Now, a month after I moved to the US, it's 30F/-1C. Last night, I slept with my sweater, gloves, and socks on. Under a quilt. With the heater on. In southern Louisiana. Tonight, the forecast is 28F/-2C.

Chancy: "Shorts", huh?

MrChancy: Honey, I'm sorry for bringing you to this frigid wasteland.

Happy New Year!

My wife has an upcoming interview. She is a permanent resident and I am a U.S. citizen. The question is in bold.

The interview letter requests to bring the following:

You MUST BRING the following with you to the interview:

This letter. (we have this)

Your Alien Registration Card ("green card"). (we have this)

Any evidence of Selective Service Registration. (does not apply).

Your passport and/or any other documents you used in connection with any entries into the United States. (my wife has a Filipino passport which expired last November. should she still bring it?)

Those items noted below which are applicable to you:

If applying for NATURALIZATION AS THE SPOUSE of a United States Citizen;

Your marriage certificate. (we have this)

Proof of death or divorce for each prior marriage of yourself or spouse. (does not apply)

Your spouse's birth or naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship. (we have this)

St Lukes is a mess.

I finally got my fiance an appt and I flew her out to St Lukes for a pcr test and the physical. She had a runny nose and they turned her away. She went back home and before she left they told her to come back in 5 to 7 days to retake the pcr and try again. I spent all the expense of getting her out there again only for them to tell her when she got to SLEC that she needs to go to ANOTHER facility to get her PCR done. So now currently she is in a random DOH clinic trying to get a swab test in the waiting room from hell for the last 9hrs with a baby on her arm. I'm livid. Her appt is tomorrow at noon. IF she can't get the test done by midnight I may have to rebook it for the following day. However they are saying that if you don't get a PCR by the 8th day they may make you wait 28 days later in a type of self quarantine. The SLEC website is useless. None of this is on there btw. I can't imagine having to do this over and over again. Has anyone had this experience happen to them?

completing N-400

My wife is going to file for citizenship under the 3-year Permanent Resident and Marriage to US citizen requirement. The N-400 asks for all dates of travel outside the US over the last 5 years. She has only been in the US for 4 years. Should she include the one year prior to entering the US when answering this question? It seems like the time prior to her entry into the US is irrelevant and that the N-400 is written towards the 5-year permanent resident requirement but we don't want to screw up the application. Also, similarly, do they need information regarding residences and jobs prior to entry into the US?
