Hello fellow Vjers, I am a US citizen and wanted to bring my mom from the Philippines. I'm debating whether we should apply for immigrant or non-immigrant visa. I'm considering the timeline of the processing. We want her to be here in the US as soon as possible. I'm hoping to hear from a fellow IR5 petitioner whose visa application has been recently approved. I'm wondering about how long the process has been from your application to approval. I read that Visa interview timeline is 500+ days from application for non-immigrant visa.

What is up with the almost child like behavior when a Filipina doesn't get her way or is upset about something trivial? If I'm talking to my fianc e and she doesn't like something I've said or doesn't understand she will get quiet and not respond and either turn off her camera so I can't see her, ubruptly end the call or walk away phone leaving me to wonder where she's gone. I've been dealing with it for almost three years now and its getting old. Especially because she's never apologetic about it and then blames me for her acting that way.

I just completed my Utah virtual marriage with my Filipina wife at the end of 2021! I am now planning to see her in March and I have a couple of questions about the 9a visa process. -I understand that the San Francisco consulate has jurisdiction over Utah...however, I live in Los Angeles. I also understand that you need to submit your report of marriage before you can apply for the 9a visa. Am I supposed to submit my report of marriage to the San Francisco consulate (since that's the jurisdiction I got married in), and my 9a application to Los Angeles (where I live)? Or do I have that wrong... -I am submitting my report of marriage and my 9a visa application at the same time. Will this potentially cause any delays with getting my 9a visa? Or do they tend to process the report of marriage very quickly... Thanks for the help!

My question is, will my husband need a Philippines visa or we can avail the Balikbayan program? Please and thank you. We plan to go home this June 2022.
