Just wanted to say how excited we were that the wife got her 10 yr card (about 10 months) today and surprised that we didn't even know it was sent, or who the package from from! No interview, nor bio's, no notice that it's been approved or even sent. Was a mystery! Onward and upward! I'll have some questions to ask in the forums about things in the coming weeks I guess! Best of luck to everyone! I thought we'd have to wait for another year, according to the timetable of approval estimates...

So it has been almost 29 mos since my mom filed for my dad s petition. My mom is LPR. Today the status changed to case is being actively reviewed by uscis I just don t understand why it s now showing That instead of approved. I guess my question is How long of another wait is this going to be based on your experience or someone you knew who filed for the same petition? Any inputs would be so much helpful. It has been very long waiting. Stay safe everyone.

Good evening all, My wife has just naturalized this past friday, and would like to bring her father over from the Philippines, however him and my wife's mother were never married despite my wife's birth certificate saying they were. He has since married my wife's stepmother. And while my wife was raised by her father and stepmother while her mother was abroad, the only real proof we have of a relationship is just her birth certificate and various photographs from throughout her life, due to the Philippines being a very cashed based society with little to no receipts. Would these and a cover letter explaining the situation on an I-130 be sufficient? My father in law also was a sea-farer with a US visa as well. If this all goes well, we plan to have him petition his wife and minor children as family of a permanent resident. Any advice on this would be appreciated to ensure success on this petition.

First off.. mods, my apologies if this is posted in the wrong area. I'll learn eventually... Circumstances: - K-1, Philippines, NOA1 was beginning of February
- G-28 filed based on attorney for petitioner and beneficiary
- Attorney helped with the I-129f
- Attorney now wants $3K to go from this point to end of interview
- No criminal, Petitioner has had divorce, 20 yr age gap
- Not expecting RFE (like anyone does..)
My questions: - Is an attorney a good idea to keep the same attorney and just pay it?
- Would replacing/removing the attorney introduce a delay in the I-129f?
- Is $3k too much for those services?
Like everyone, I want to keep this as streamlined as possible (path of least resistance) Any thoughts are appreciated. Oh, and if this has been covered, please just the link and accept my apologies Thank you!!!
