- I have been in a relationship with my Filipina wife for over 4 years, and we just got married through Utah zoom call in December of 2021. - I have come to the Philippines 7 times to see her. We have lots of pics together in different places, and with her family and friends...but none of them were taken with the camera timestamp feature turned on. I can add time/place captions underneath the pics, but I don't know whether those are considered valid. - I can print the flight tickets and hotel reservations that were emailed to me from all my previous trips, but I have read that you need the actual boarding passes. I threw those out once I was done with my flights. - We are young (both in our 20s) and we have no combined finances or jointly owned property. I have sent her money plenty of times through Western Union and World Remit, but that's it. - Last month I filed my taxes for 2021 as "married filing separately" because I had read that it is difficult to file jointly with the IRS if your spouse is a nonresident alien. However, I'm now reading that the USCIS only considers joint tax returns or combined finances as strong evidence of a real marriage. So basically, I'm worried that they will deny my application because of lack of evidence. Should I try amending my tax return, opening a joint bank account etc. in order to create stronger evidence for my case? Wouldn't they consider it suspicious if I do that right before submitting my I-130? Thanks for the help.

So I've been scouring this site for some information but I cannot find a thread with my exact dilemma, I kindly ask for some wisdom. My wife arrived here in the US on Sept 2021, got married Nov 2021, and filled for Adjustment of Status (I-485) short after. She got her Biometrics on January and we've been waiting for the next step ever since. Tax Season. She has not worked the entire 2021 foreign or domestic, and we applied for an SSN through the AOS (I-485) form. I'm aware that I cannot file my taxes jointly without SSN or ITIN, however, I don't quite understand how the W7 form works. As I've read, W7 has to be sent off together with my forms when I file my taxes but I thought it would be rejected without the SSN/ITIN? And then I have to contact an Acceptance Agent to verify her foreign status in order to receive the ITIN number? How will I include that number in my file? 1.) Is it possible to re-apply for an SSN through the SSA? 2.) File for an extension to wait for the SSN? 3.) Married Filling Separately since she has no work/income? Kindly, Thank you Help

Apologies if this is in the incorrect location and thank you advance for any advice. My Filipino fiance and I just completed the DS160, after numerous time out drops and 3 hours later, and I was wondering if we may have made a mistake. She started the process on her laptop in Manila, but has an absolutely terrible internet connection, so we completed the form from my computer here in the US with her assistance via TeamViewer. Basically, I was the one who actually clicked on the signature box and entered her passport information for her. Did we make a mistake with this? Should we resubmit making sure that she clicks on the signature block from her computer in manila? Thank you again for any advice

My fianc and I will be completing the DS-160 soon and we should have an interview date shortly. I know we will need to schedule an exam at SLEC and I was wondering about optimal timing of the appointment. My fianc lives in Mindanao, so it would be preferable to do the exam on the same trip as the interview. My question is, what is the best amount of time between the exam and the interview? I would prefer to have the dates close enough to do on the same trip, but I would also like a cushion of time in case there is some problem with the exam. My second question regarding timing is the amount of time between the interview(assuming an approval) and receiving the visa. I m wondering if it is better for her to return home to Mindanao while she waits for the visa or to stay in Manila and wait there since she will most likely need to fly from there when traveling to the US.
