Medical Exam Instructions All immigrant visa applicants, regardless of age, require a medical examination prior to the issuance of a visa. It is your responsibility to schedule a medical exam with St. Luke s Medical Center Extension Clinic two weeks before your visa interview at the U.S. Embassy. Does the medical exam have to be taken over two weeks before the interview? Is it okay if it is 12 days? I am trying to figure out how to schedule it best because some flight days are extremely expensive.

"MANILA, PHIL approved your request for expedited processing of your immigrant visa application. The National Visa Center sent your immigrant visa application to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in MANILA, PHIL for their action. The Embassy/Consulate General will contact you soon to schedule a visa interview." So what next, I read on here that we should schedule ourselves? This was May 21st, how long now? Thank You All

| Retaining maiden name in renewal of Passport question |

Good day, I just have a question about renewing my Philippine passport, is it okay to retain my maiden name even if my (pending/being processed) greencard is in my married name? My expired Phil passport is still in my maiden name. I have been going through separation and will be filing for divorce in the near future. I was just wondering if I can just retain my maiden name in my Phil passport so it won't be a hassle. I have read an article saying: "The Philippine Passport Act does not prohibit married women from continuously using their maiden names in their passports. However, once a married woman has opted to adopt her husband's surname in her passport, she may not revert to her maiden name, except in any of the following instances: death of husband, divorce, annulment or nullity of marriage." --Just asking for any advice or anyone who has experienced this issue. Thank you.

The interview was scheduled for July 5. We received an email from the NVC. We created an account on the CGI Customer Portal to add a delivery address for the applicant. After doing so, we saw that no interview date was listed as scheduled. I decided to click "Schedule an interview" and found a date of July 27 available once classifying it as IR2. Is this legit? I was surprised that it allowed us to do that. The only information it asked for was the passport info, priority date, and case id #, but not the invoice ID #.

We were notified today that the NVC has rejected the PSA Birth and Marriage Certificates and has requested better copies. I rescanned the originals and resubmitted them, but they don't appear noticeably better then the first round. Has anyone experienced this. They are what they are. Is there a work around for this? It was 77 days from the creation of our case to their review if anyone is counting days. Thanks, David
