I-129F Box 47 Question

Greetings, everyone!

Back story: I had applied for a K-1 for a different girl than I'm engaged to now back in 2015. We were approved at that time but the relationship didn't last and we never moved forward with bringing her to the U.S. As of this year, I sent off a request to close the file which would free up both of us to apply again. We're still waiting to hear back from USCIS on the old case closure.

Present Day: I traveled to meet my current fianc e last month and I'm filling out the I-129F application. For box 47, would I put approved or revoked based on the outcome of the original petition?

Note: to be safe, I'll hold off on submitting the current packet until we hear back from USCIS regarding the original case closure unless everyone here thinks it'll be okay to proceed due to the fact it's over 5 years old and still no record of entry into the U.S.

Thanks for any info.

Adoptions and disclosing previous name

I was adopted at 12 by my stepdad. Other than a SS card I never had any other documents in that name. The addition is sealed and my BC states my stepdad as my father and has my new name (middle and last were changed).

Do I need to disclose my name change?

If so do I need to provide documents?

@Familysaw you in another topic and you seen to have a good grasp on the subject.

Adopted stepchild to immigrate in the US

Hi,

I'm in the process of adopting my 13-year-old stepdaughter. She was born out of wedlock but has been raised by my in-laws because her mother voluntarily gave her to them when she was little and my husband immigrated to the US when she was about 2 years old. Both my husband and I are US citizens and have been married for 7 years and have 3 kids. My husband was the one who petitioned me. Recently, my in-laws immigrated here in the US and my stepdaughter had to live with her mother for the first time since she was born. In the past, she would just visit her and was never responsible in caring, raising, or even support her financially. Once she moved with her mother she started abusing her physically. We would send her monthly allowance but her mother would get the money and hurt her if she wouldn't give it. My stepdaughter would report to us the bruises and abuse she's dealing with her. Right now, we're in the process of consulting with an adoption attorney in the Philippines. We have just arranged for her to be moved and now she's with my husband's aunt. She agreed to take her in temporarily while we're fixing her papers. My stepdaughter's mother told us that she would sign the adoption papers voluntarily once it's ready. My heart goes out to her and I would love to be her mother so that she would be free from her horrible biological mom and be able to be a part of a loving family once we're able to get her here in the US.

My questions are: how do we start processing her immigration papers once the adoption in the Philippines has been finalized? Do we file a I-130? IR2? What is the fastest possible route for us to get her? The lawyer said it would take about 6 months for her adoption to be finalized. We would want to get ready by now on our next steps. Thank you in advance to anyone who answers.

Hello,

f2A to Ir1

Married 30 years

My mom (petitioner) petitioned for her husband (my stepdad) in 2019. we got DQ'd in 2020. Fast forward 2022, we submitted updated 1040 for 2021 income and W2. Her income went from 55k to 36k.

My mom lives with us (me, my husband, and my 2 kids), but we do not combine our income and we file taxes separately from her.

We put 2 as household size as the sponsor is my mom and the other household member is the intending applicant (my stepdad). Is this going to be a problem? Would the consul include us 4 in the household size? if that's the case, her 36k income will not be enough. do we ( my husband husband and I) need to fill out i-864 and I864A)?

**or is 2 member household enough?

Thank you,

Micah
