Not sure if this is the right forum for this, Mods please move to the appropriate spot, thanks! So this posted in our FB group chat, f2b applicant had interview 8/23/23 and per the one that posted the petitioner died 8/10/23 and the applicant still pushed through with the interview and was eventually approved for the visa, the petitioner s and joint sponsor s information were all updated and uploaded in CEAC, applicant did not disclose the petitioner s death nor it was brought up during the interview. So I m guessing this is misrepresentation, right? This was at the Manila embassy.

| Adopt Stepchild Before or After Citizenship? [split topic] |

My stepdaughter is in the USA as legal resident from Philippines. Her father is not on the birth certificate and has never had contact with her. We had no problem with her coming here as K2. If I adopt her, will she automatically becomes a citizen? My wife will apply for citizenship next year and our daughter would then become a citizen anyway. I want to adopt her either way and I'm wondering if I should wait until she is a citizen or do it now. In addition, I will be applying for social security while she is still only 11 or 12 years old and I learned that she will receive social security benefits as my minor adopted child, so that's another reason to adopt. Any comments or experience with this would be welcome.

My wife and I have been married for over 4 years. We originally married in Cebu, then moved to the USA several months later. She now feels it's important to get formally married in the USA. I've tried googling if this is actually something that can be done, but came up empty. She claims some of her friends have done it, but is hazy on the details. Anyone here know if it's actually legal to get formally married in the USA, although I already legally married my wife in the Philippines? Details would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

so my noa2 is expiring august 31st. When we got our status ready few weeks ago, the earliest visa interview available was September 7th. so we secured that day for her interview. What can I do from my end, should I contact manila embassy by phone to have it extended or they do it automatic without me asking? Thanks....
