Hello All, I received an RFE today and was wanting your opinion on exactly what they are asking for. I am taking it as they completely lost my I-864. I do have an exact copy of the original I-864 I can send, but am wanting to make sure they are not asking for more evidence. I know being self employed, and a good accountant. I show below poverty level as "adjusted gross income". I submitted my property tax, and a letter from the bank showing my house is paid off, and stocks that have my assets close to 7 figures. I didn't feel I needed more assets if that is what they are asking for. Any help is much appreciated. TIA copy RFE.pdf

Good day VJs, I have a question regarding "Information about your Current Marriage" in the Form I-485. I am the beneficiary and was on a K1 visa, and I am now married to my USC Spouse. My question is in the Current Spouse's Legal Name tab, do I put my Wife's married name ( we just got married) or her maiden name? Thank you.

Hello, being self employed, trying to figure out what to put in this line is really confusing. Running my own business, I gross well into 6 figures every year, but after expenses, I'm right around $100K, but after all my depreciation, I about poverty level. I know I can use assets which go into 7 figures so I am not worried about needing a sponsor. I'm just not sure what figure goes in number 7 of part 6 of the I-864 Thanks for any help........

Recently we were knocked backwards on the processing of our Adjustment of Status. As you are aware the initial cost for the processing of the AOS is $1225.00 USD. What is not as well known is the cost of processing the I-693, that document, which is seldom discussed here on VJ, proved to be very costly, We originally paid in excess of $450,00 for the first I-693, but to our surprise after our AOS interview we receive a poorly written RFE requiring that we submit a new I-693. This second I-693 cost over $850.00. Not only the money, but up to a 90 day delay in processing the AOS. All of this through no fault of our own. When you are wondering if a K-1 is for you, or a CR-I would work better you need to consider the cost and frustration of K-1 processing.
