US Immigration from Indonesia

Hi all,

Our judicial oath ceremonies are finally happening this Friday. Preparing for it and noticed several potential issues:

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/guides/chapter5.pdf says only the green card needs to be returned, but

https://askellis.com/oath-ceremony-naturalization/ (not official, but reading it since it discusses what happens on the day) say return other USCIS issued documents like EAD and AP as well.

Presumably only the green card is needed? Our concern is somewhere between USCIS and USPS my wife's EAD card was lost. We didn't really file any official report back then since our green card interview was scheduled not long after anyway.

And how strictly is the dress code enforced? Esp the no jeans part

Our judicial oath ceremony is scheduled for 8/25, and per the suggestions on this forum we are thinking of getting passports and passport cards first, /then/ using the passport card when updating our names on our Social Security cards, then using that to update bank accounts, names used for payroll, etc.

Problem is... expedited processing now takes an estimated 7-9 weeks, and normal processing takes 10-13. Not including mailing time.

What happens if, say, we end up with W-2s with our old names?

And... Given this timeline - is taking an emergency trip out of the country to qualify for an urgent travel appointment the only recourse? We also thought of using expeditors but a) are not sure how much faster it is, and b) are told on another forum that those are currently not allowed to operate

So, my spouse will be coming to the US in October and in anticipation I paid the $220.00 immigrant fee and have the receipt. I understand that nothing starts moving on the issuance of the green card after the person enters the USA, however, once that happens is there a place you can track the progress of the Green Card issuance? Thanks

So just within the last 30 minutes my spouse visa was approved in the US Embassy in Indonesia, however they gave him a paper that explained how to register for passport delivery, which we already done when we scheduled the interview. In other postings here I have read that when they approve your visa they give you a paper that tells you how to pay for the green card prior to coming to the US, but that was not given to hum. Will that come with the passport when its delivered? Thanks

As most of you know this process is not easy, full of stress and even more uncertainty and it is nice to know that there a whole bunch of people in this place that will answer the same question 50 times and are kind and knowledgeable and patient. My journey is still ongoing but I have nothing but kind words for all the help I have been given here when I had so many questions, ( many of them just looking for assurances and comfort.)
