Consulate Review: Indonesia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 18, 2026
Embassy Review : Interview was smooth sailing, it no longer than 5 minutes. I was asked a basic question such as:
- How did we meet?
- When was the first time we met in person?
- How many times, and where was it?
- When was the last time we saw each other?
- What does he do for a living?

And along with the new mandatory questions:
- "Have you experienced harm or mistreatment in your country of nationality or last habitual residence?"
- "Do you fear harm or mistreatment in returning to your country of nationality?"

That was it, the consular officer didn't ask for other proof either.
Note: per the announcement that was posted on March 25, 2026: effective March 30, 2026, all K1 visa will be refused initially and will receive a 221(g) for an expanded social media screening, but the visa was approved and issued the next day.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
