US Immigration from Costa Rica

We received our letter from the NVC that gave us our case number. I believe the next step is fill out the DS 160 but when we go there, the site is also asking for an invoice id number. This number is not listed in the letter. Is that something we still need to wait for or how can we get it?

Interview went great, nailed all the answers but interviewer claimed a file was missing in his packet and that it was a processing error on their end. He had to request to get it special delivered and that as soon as he received it in 3-4 weeks he will process the approval and get a notice for the oath ceremony.

Approval notice: July 12, 2022 - 3-4 weeks, yea right. 1 year later and 6 emails later and it finally arrived. So excited!

I just wanted to share my experience. I know the wait times are excruciating and at times feels like a denial is inevitable with the delays, but hang in there.

Hi! I changed careers and went back to school a couple of years ago and as a result my last couple of tax returns don't meet the income requirements. I graduated last October and landed a new job in January that more than meets the income requirements. The issue is, it is an independent contractor job. My contract has no end date, and my employer wrote me a letter that states "This letter serves to verify that from January 2022 - current, XX
has been doing work for XX as an Independent Contractor at the
rate of X per hour (or X per year). (information redacted for privacy reasons. ) I have heard that if you are an independent contractor... the uscis won't accept your independent income unless it was stated on a previous tax return, which this one wasn't since it's a new job. Has anyone been in a similar situation or has any insight for me? Thank you all so much!

My EAD is approved but I still don't have a SSN, I've been told it keeps getting automatically deleted from the system because we didn't get it processed before the 90 days were over so we had to wait until I've got my AOS to apply for one again. Is it possible to apply for a SSN once I get the EAD or do I really have to wait for the AOS? Our AOS is still being reviewed because of an RFE.

Also, is it possible to work with my AOS pending or without a SSN but with an EAD?

I was just thinking this morning - you never see any posts from people who either worked/work at USCIS processing these applications. I wish we would so it would give us more insight on the day to day activities, LOL. Just a random thought. Has anyone else thought this or seen posts where the author states they formally worked there?
