Interview Documents - Multiple Questions

Hi All,

I'm desperately hoping to gain some clarity here as I've emailed the consulate asking for document clarification and was told in short that they cannot answer specific questions.

Brief background: I'm married to an American. We've been together 8+ years, lived together in Canada for 5ish years, and then he got into medical school in the US. He's been there for just over two years now, while I've been waiting for a green card for 2.5+ years. Because he is in his third year of medical school, he obviously is not currently earning an income, and therefore, his father (my FIL) has graciously agreed to be my joint sponsor. We were DQ'd October 16, 2020. My interview is at the end of September, 2021.

Questions:

1) As so much time has passed since I was DQ'd, I now obviously need to bring my joint sponsor's 2020 tax return, rather than the 2019 one which I had previously uploaded to CEAC. Do I need to upload the new one to CEAC, or just bring it with me?

2) I've seen conflicting information about documents needing to be uploaded to CEAC after being DQ'd if time has passed while waiting for an interview (like a new police check, new tax year documents, etc.). However, I literally cannot find a single verified source that says you need to upload documents to CEAC after you've been DQ'd. Does anyone know this for certain one way or the other? If so, which documents need to be uploaded?

3) When bringing a Form 1040, do I need to bring just the form 1040 tax return, or the form 1040 plus ALL accompanying schedules?

4) My FIL/joint sponsor lives with his wife/my MIL. His income is substantial on its own, and therefore we do not need additional household member's income to support our case. However, on the consulate checklist, it says that if a joint sponsor files taxes with a spouse, the spouse needs to fill out the I-864A. She is not employed. Do we still fill this out? Has anyone been asked for this? And lastly, do we just put "zero" on page 2 , section 4, 2A-C, under her income, rather than putting their household income?

I hope someone has some answers about any of this, especially if you've recently been interviewed having had a similar wait time. Obviously, I just really really want to get this right and not mess up our chances of living together again. It has been a very long 2.5 years.

Thank you,

A

Preparing for EAD expedite, need some help

Hello everyone I'm wondering if you can point me in the right direction, (I've looked and it seems to be a lot and I've looked to the point where I'm confused now) haha

I'm in the middle of AOS from a K1 visa.

I have been approached by my college, unexpectedly, for a paid student tutor position due to how well I did in AP and I'd really love to take it.

They are aware that I need my EAD and my SSN so I told them I'd be investigating the Expedited route and get back to them.

I have seen that yes you can expedite with a job offer and having a written offer is best to submit. Would a letter explaining my reasoning be beneficial as well?

I'm wondering what category I would claim this under? (Financial loss is kinda what I'm thinking ) My reasoning is:

My savings are definitely dwindling haha with school, but my husband does make enough to cover us, just not for school as well.

If I am unable to work I couldn't continue school which is coming up close to applying to nursing school to actually get a career going.

If a letter is beneficial what would be the best way to go about writing it?

What other evidence do you think would be helpful? (print outs of my savings account back home? etc)

Thanks in advance guys I really appreciate your help with this one and your time.

I am petitioning my wife to the United States. We are at the point where she is getting police clearances from the different countries she has lived in. We have run into an issue trying to get her police clearance/Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC). The Hong Kong Police Force asks for a request letter from the relevant government authority and a postal address of the relevant immigration authority to mail it. I called NVC and their representatives told me to send Hong Kong my wife s Notice of Immigrant Visa Case Creation email letter. However, NVC doesn t receive physical mail anymore. Has anyone else ran into this issue and where they have had Hong Kong send their CNCC to?

Well as the title states we have all of the joint sponsor information we need to send it out but we are worried about the last name being different from birth certificate from all of the other documents. They also don't have a passport just a birth certificate. Am I overthinking this?

My husband's AOS interview is coming up on August 23, and I'm trying to understand if I am supposed to go in as well. The notice says a bunch of times to not bring anyone into the interview with you, but now I'm getting information that sounds like I should go in because I will also be interviewed. Could someone please clarify this? Should I just go in and let them send me away if they don't need me?

(This will be in Indianapolis btw)
