Hi! I hope this is the right forum for this question. I don't collect SNAP benefits but my spouse and children do. I work full time and make decent money but she stays at home with our three kids so they (spouse and kids) are still eligible. I unfortunately lost my green card. I read about there being a fee waiver and I think I am eligible. My question is regarding this passage on the fee waiver page: "Relying primarily on public cash assistance for income maintenance can affect your eligibility for some immigration benefits, depending on the totality of the circumstances. You may be inadmissible to the United States (and therefore ineligible for certain immigration benefits like a Green Card) because you are more likely than not to become a public charge. You may also be deportable for already having become a public charge within 5 years of entering the United States for reasons that arose before you entered the country." I entered the country in 2016 with no conditions on my green card (I had one previously). Should I be concerned about applying for a fee waiver? Thank you! I'll try to reply promptly if you think you need more information in order to answer.

Hello, Thank you for reading my post. I would greatly appreciate any feedback. I just found out that I am pregnant and high-risk. I have my US immigration medical next week, followed by the US Immigration interview week after. I am very nervous about the X-ray situation and consulted doctors. They said I should be fine to get it done so long as I wear the lead shields. If I successfully get my US Immigrant Visa (IR1/CR1) after the interview, I have 6 months to cross the border. Because I am high risk, I need to start everything for the pregnancy in Canada, and I have read that once I cross into the US, I lose my Canadian residency and therefore my healthcare. My husband does not have an adequate health insurance plan nor the savings for the baby. I have no idea what to do at this point! The pregnancy is short of a miracle as I wasn't expected to conceive. I was involved in a major car crash in NJ 2 years ago while visiting my husband. Does anyone have any experience with this? I would be so grateful for any words of advice. Thank you.

Hello, I recently filed my IR1 application to the NVC along with the affadavit of support from my wife (my sponsor) and my father-in-law (joint sponsor). After some time, the NVC got back to me asking for extra documentation, including my wife's W2 and 1099 for last year. The issue is that my wife and I are both living in Canada, and her income exclusively came from a Canadian source, so she doesn't have any W2 or 1099 to provide. She filed her taxes to the IRS in March, but they have a huge backlog so they didn't process her paperwork yet. I messaged the NVC, but it will probably take them a couple weeks to reply. Is there any other supporting document I can provide the NVC in lieu of the one they are asking? Thank you!!

We have currently filed the I-129f fiance visa but have been waiting a long time. I am currently in the US visiting and we are considering just getting married and filing for an adjustment of status. Is there any reason why we shouldn't do this? I want to be able to obtain employment in the US as soon as possible. It will take 5-7 months to get a work permit after filing adjustment of status. I have to file the adjustment of status after we recieve the fiance visa anyways so why not just get married now instead of waiting a few more months and then filing?
