Hello, I am almost ready to file for my AOS. I am the beneficiary and am adjusting from TN status. My husband is the US citizen. For the 2020 tax year he made approximately 29 00 (using the adjusted gross income (line 11 of his 1040). For 2021 - halfway through the year he switched from part time to full time. I estimated his current expected annual income to be 31 500 (using his last gross income on salary, then multiplying his new hours worked per week for the remainder of the year). My question is with his employment income verification letter it state he is now working full time (40 hours) per week with his hourly pay rate. This amount equals roughly 35 000 year. Will they look at this and think there is a discrepancy from multiplying these numbers and thinking 35 000 does not match the 31 500 we had? I was thinking of putting a comment in the additional information, that the 31 500 is the expected annual income for 2021. Because he switched from part time to full time, the expected annual income is 35 000 for 2022. Or should I just put the 35 000 for expected annual income? Thanks for all of your advice, because of this forum I have felt confident to do all of this paperwork on our own!

This is probably not the right thread but didn t know where to post. my step dad had medical with Dr Lee. Everything went fine but they said they saw something in the X-RAYS and they can t determine if it s TB or not (why not do a skin test?). But they pretty much held medical and said that now we need to see someone at St Michaels hospital. And only he can tell if it s TB? And on top of that he s the only immigration specialist. He s not even listed as one on the list online on the embassy site. I know he used to smoke a lot so I assume it s his lungs but has anyone heard of this? Dr Lees office won t give us any additional information, and won t tell us the name of the doctor nor allow us to reschedule the date we get to see him. So bizarre. any experiences or comments are appreciated!

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but I've been reading some conflicting information online. I'm currently in the K1 process and waiting for an interview at the Montreal consulate. For the last two years, I've worked at one of the most busiest organizations in Canada that has a lot of direct involvement with Covid-19. As a result of this, and the delays/stresses of the K1 process, I've become very burnt out and depressed. To top it off, my fianc left today after visiting for a week, and I am absolutely broken. I don't have a family doctor, and would likely have to go to the emergency room to get a note to take sick leave from work. However, I am concerned that taking this leave could impact my eligibility to receive a K1 visa. Is there any truth to this concern, or am I just better to suck it up and continue as is? Any help is appreciated.

Hi there, My job offer has a clause that I must demonstrate work authorization in the US through e-verify by Oct 29, 2021. Can you please help me navigate the steps after EAD approval. 1. My SSN was issued 10 years ago with a notation Valid only with DHS work authorization when I had an L1A but quit that job and left the US to return to Canada several years ago. I never used this SSN ever since then. Question: Do I need to get a new SSN? 2. My SSN has my maiden name on it but my EAD will have my married name on it (eg Angelina Jolie in SSN but Angelina Pitt in EAD). Question: Do I have to go to SSA to change my name or DHS will transmit the info directly to SSA? I did not apply or give my old SSN in my I-765 as I could not locate it back then (wrote a comment under Other info that I could not locate it as SSA offices were closed but will locate it at a later time when SSA opens to the public etc). I am on a tight timeline and with the delays in SSA, do you have any advice on how I can demonstrate work authorization in e-verify? I believe my DHS info will not match with SSA info so it will return a TNC (tentative non-confirmation). Any advice from anyone who went through the same experience is appreciated. Thanks!
