I just made this awesome recipe today... It is for Beef Stroganoff... I have a recipe and this one is very similar but this one is soooo yummy!!! I got it from AllRecipes...

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

INGREDIENTS:

* 1 pound cubed beef stew meat

* 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed golden mushroom soup (I used just plain old cream of mushroom soup)

* 1/2 cup chopped onion

* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

* 1/4 cup water

* 1 or 2 tsps of soy sauce (this wasn't in the recipe but I added it)

* 1/2 to 1 garlic clove, chopped (this also wasn't in the recipe but I added it)

* 4 ounces cream cheese

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a slow cooker, combine the meat, soup, onion, Worcestershire sauce and water.

2. Cook on Low setting for 8 hours, or on High setting for about 5 hours. Stir in cream cheese just before serving. It might be kind of runny but once you add the cream cheese it thickens up a bit ...

*you might want to double the recipe  YUM!!! YUM!!!!

I was trying so hard not to mess up the recipe too.... I did that the last time too.....

I was wondering why the pork wasn't fluffing up :P

at least the sauce from my sweet and sour pork came out good  ... it tasted ok but not like it should have.. hubby ate it anyways and said it tasted good  .. good old hubby (L)

Here is the recipe....

Sweet and Sour Pork Balls

1 1/2 pounds boneless pork

1 egg, slightly beaten

2 tbsp. cornstarch

2 tbsp. vegetable oil

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. soy sauce

1/4 tsp. pepper

Trim fat from pork and then cut into 3/4 inch pieces. Mix together remaining ingredients. Stir in pork. cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes.

2 tomatoes

1 green pepper

1 can (8 1/4 ounce) pineapple chunks

Cut each tomato into 8 wedges. Cut pepper into 1 inch pieces. Drain pineapple chunks. Set these aside till needed.

Vegetable Oil

3/4 cup flour

2 tbsp. cornstarch

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking soda

3/4 cup water

Heat oil to 350 degrees. Mix together remaining ingredients. Stir pork pieces into batter until well coated. Fry about 15 pieces at a time for 4 minutes or until light golden brown, turning frequently. Drain on paper towels. Do this until all the pork is fried. Increase oil temperature to 375 degrees. Fry pork all at time for about 1 minute or until golden brown, drain on paper towels. Place pork on heated platter.

1 cup plus 2 tbsp. white sugar

1 cup chicken broth

3/4 cup white vinegar

1 tbsp. oil

2 tsp. soy sauce

1 tsp. salt

1 clove garlic

1/4 cup cornstarch

1/4 cup cold water

Heat all the above ingredients, except the cornstarch and water in a saucepan. Mix cornstarch with water and stir into heated sauce. Cook about 20 seconds or until thickened. Stir in tomatoes, green pepper and pineapple. Heat to boiling, pour over pork. Serve with rice. Serves about 8.

Ok, here's a family favourite. It's absolutely delicious and once you've all the prep done, is really easy to make :)

I don't have exact measurements as I cook it by eye, but I've tried to approximate as much as I can.

Guinness Beef Stew

1lb boneless beef sirloin, cut into cubes…more if you’re a big meat eater

2 small onions chopped

½ clove of garlic finely chopped/crushed

3 carrots cut into large chunks

1 turnip (rutabaga) cut into large chunks

1/2 parsnip cut into large chunks

2 pieces of celery chopped (I chop these finer than others)

4 spuds chopped into chunks

2 lrg cans of Guinness(pints)

I can beef stock/broth

Salt and pepper to taste

Dollop of butter (half a stick?)

Drop of olive oil...enough to cover bottom of saucepan

About a tbsp of fresh thyme

2/3 bay leaves

Flour…about 1/3 cup

Chop beef and season with salt and pepper

Melt oil and butter in saucepan (med heat)

Add seasoned beef and brown

Remove beef and add add onions and garlic, sauté until they soften

Add flour to make a roux

Add stock and Guinness slowly

Add browned beef

Simmer for about ½ hour (or till meat becomes soft)

Add all veggies and herbs

Leave simmer for about another ½ hour or until sauce thickens and veggies become soft.

This makes about 4 large servings and freezes well.

Serve on it’s own in a big bowl, or with some mashed potatoes!! Delish!!

And I (L) the e book idea!!!
