Most can be given at the medical (there may be an extra fee). Some you need two or three shots some time apart, so to be on the safe side, many beneficieries do their vaccinations before the medical- also because your local doctor may do them cheaper than the official embassy one.

also check with the hospitals in Macedonia http://macedonia.usembassy.gov/medical_examiniations.html that do the required tests for the interview how long the medical examinations are good for. i know that for Bulgaria they are good for 1 month prior the interview. i read on the website it's 6 months (1 year) for Macedonia, but they keep changing the rules, so better check it out

I provided my immunization passport and they got all the info needed, so no need of teter test was there. These are things you have to verify with the authorized hospitals/clinics that do the exams, as the requirements are different for every country

I did not have any vaccination records so I had my MD do titre tests for everything required for my age group. I brought copies of the laboratory reports to my medical showing I was immune and that was fine. Good luck.

Show what immunization records you have. If you don't have any, as OBX said (nice to see you again!!!), they'll give you what's appropriate for your age group. The vaccines are given in instalments. Your first batch of shots should be enough for the interview and visa. I myself was worried I might get quarrantined or something until I got all the shots. But it wasn't a problem at all. Went smoothly.

Note to women beneficiaries: make sure you get a pregnancy test before going to your medical.

A titer test is a blood test which you can have that can prove (or disprove) your immunity to things like measles, mumps etc - if you have had the vaccinations this should prove that you have immunity and they will accept this test at your immigration medical, in lieu of an actual vaccination record.

For a list of vaccinations required for your age group, you can look here:

You can go to your local general practitioner, review the vaccination requirement fro your age group and sex. Any vaccinations required you can get them. If not, get them from your medical

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

I am confused by this also. I think I have an idea what the poster is refering to though: some vaccinations are contra-indicated during pregnancy. Thus, if you do npot have proof of previous vaccination/ the tither test does not show you to be immune, the doctor may require a pregnancy test before giving any vaccinations such as the MMR.

I was just referring to what ao cons said about women beneficiaries getting a pregnancy test before the medical -- I was wondering why that is necessary?
