Mariammaria posted a topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports,
Please be nice, I know I made a mistake... But got my K1 approved and arrived in the US June 25, 2024 and applied for AOS February 25, 2025 -- then left the US (abandoned my AOS). Will I be banned for re-entry to the US -- even under a spouse visa?-

US Citizen with Foreign Fiancé: When and How to Get Married?
gandalf1989 posted a topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures,
I'm currently living and working in the United States. My fiancé currently lives in Japan. We have been dating for about 6 months, and we have met in person several times, but we are not yet married.
My fiancé will be visiting me in the United States on a tourist visa some time in March or April and staying for about 3 months. I want to file for a fiance/spouse visa asap -- what's next?-

N400: Admitted to Weed during Green Card (was it a crime I was not arrested for?)
Left Over posted a topic in US Citizenship General Discussion,
To start, marijuana is illegal in my country of origin. When I was applying for my green card I admitted to trying marijuana when I was in my 20's (I'm 49 now). I got my green card and have lived in the US for 5 years. I'm in the process of applying for citizenship. What answer should I give to the question: "Have you EVER committed, agreed to commit, asked someone else to commit, helped commit, or tried to commit a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested? Yes or No" given that I admitted to past marijuana use during the GC process?-

Fiancée threatened with deportation by customs agent after arriving at airport for false accusations. How concerned should we be?

Firstly, I want to get some things clear because I know everyone will say this otherwise:
We are seeing an immigration attorney for consultation soon. We've already printed out several documents to prove that my fiancée is not coming here with the intent to live here for the future until they get the K-1 Visa... Now, Heres the actual story...- 53 replies
Fiance or Marriage Visa in 2025 ? Pros and cons?
KandB posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
I'm 23F 🇨🇿, my partner is 29M 🇺🇲
We want to get our visa going sometime this year and want to be together as soon as possible but we are still unsure which visa would serve us better. I'd like to get married in my home country but on the other side i wouldn't mind getting married paperwise in the US and waiting for my work permit and etc if it would allow us to be together faster and then save up for and have our dream wedding in my home country.
What do you think ? All of this is so overwhelming and confusing and we just want to do the right thing.
I asked the same question on reddit, so many people recommended me to go with fiance visa, two suggested marriage visa. I need more input and advice from experienced people. Thank you
Ps: is it possible to have dual citizenship so i don't lose one from my home country? How does that work ?- 31 replies

Joint sponsors spouse decline to sign form i-864A.
Joint sponsor makes sufficient funds independently (an MD), but files tax jointly with his spouse. nvc asked for i-864a from spouse but declined to sign.
Don't know anyone else who can be a joint sponsor. This is the only person we got. Would appreciate suggestion for best course of action. Thanks
Do you have to provide the U.S. residence address? 4:04 am today

1 RepliesHello, I need the most recent info on this.
My fiance is a U.S. Navy, and he's currently living in the base barracks. We're preparing for the upcoming interview at the U.S. Embassy in Korea right now, and we aren't sure if we have to provide the U.S. residence address to the interviewer and/or the physician at the clinic.
Since the interview requirements said he needs to submit his financial evidence that he can support me, he said we need to get the lease as a proof for the interview and other stuff.
But since he already showed that he is able to support me financially, can I tell the interviewer that he's living in barracks right now but we plan to get an apartment when I arrive to the states? And that I will stay at an inn or something while he's looking for a place for us to stay, if need be.
I just think it's a waste of rent money for each month for him to get a house when I won't even be able to stay with him.Would this be an issue during the interview process and providing the U.S. address at the health examination?
Please help!
Thank you.

Household size calculation help! 11:05 pm yesterday

3 RepliesHi everyone,
I m in the process of bringing my fianc e to the U.S. on a K-1 visa and need help determining the correct household size for the I-134 (Declaration of Financial Support) and later the I-864 (Affidavit of Support) once we re married.
Here s my situation:
I earn $22.55/hr from my main job and just started a 1099 side gig that brings in about $500/week.
Last year, I had surgery and was off for a month, so my income was around $38K. This year, I expect to make significantly more.
I have two children from a prior relationship. I pay child support, but they live in another state, and I don t get to see them currently. I don t claim them as dependents on my taxes, and we were never married.
My fianc e has a son, but he is not immigrating with her. He ll remain with family in her home country. We plan to bring him once she has her green card and we can jointly sponsor him.
Boundless Immigration told me my household size is just 2 (me + my fianc e), but I m not sure that s correct given the child support and her child abroad.
So my questions are:
1. What is my correct household size for the I-134 (while applying for the K-1 visa)?
2. What will it be for the I-864 after we marry?
3. Do I need to include:
My two children I pay child support for?
My fianc e s child, even though he s not coming now?
Any guidance or experience would be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure I m doing this right and avoid delays.
Thanks in advance!

Please replace this with an acceptable birth certificate from a correct issuing authority. Please use our Document Finder at https://nvc.state.gov/find for acceptable documents guidelines.
The birth certificate has all the identifying factors listed on this website. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Ecuador.html
Certification is on the back of the document and on top of that, the document is apostille.
