1. I believe if you include the NOA from your AOS to show the date of filing (and that you paid the new amount) you shouldnt have to pay again for the I-765.

2. Yes dont miss the biometrics

3. There isnt much rhyme or reason to USCIS. Sometimes things get processed in odd orders etc. I wouldnt worry about it. The biometrics is a necessary part of the process and happens naturlaly depending on the availability of times at your local ASC office as I undersdtand it. So it may happen before your full file is reviewed at MSC to decide if it can be forwarded to CSC etc. So your RFE might have arrived later as a result.

I have a question if any one else has encountered or heard of this problem. I followed all of visajourneys steps for filling out the forms double and triple checked them and even went so far as to put big pink post its on each form lableing it. I sent all the forms together in one big brown envelope with a cover sheet labeling the contents. Which were the !-484, I-131, and I-765. I only received NOA1's for the I131- and I 485 even though I applied for the I-131, I-485 and the I-765. Also I received all my NOA-1's at the same time but the I-765 was missing. So when I called the USCIS they told me they never received the I-765 and I explained everything was filed at once all together. She told me that all she could tell me to do was to submit the I-765. So then the same day when I get home I find in my mail box an RFE saying I did not send in my taxes which I did send all the way back to 2004. So my questions are as follows.

1. When I resubmit the I-765 do I need to pay this time because the firts time was nocharge as long as I filed with the I-485?

2. I already received a letter for my wife's biometric appointment do we still go if we also received a RFE because of them losing my taxes?

3. Why would they send an RFE after the biometrics appointment letter isn't this out of order? wouldn't it be RFE then Biometrics?

JandC, I hope that you got the AP and everything is okay.

dearheart, that's good news, congrats.

We had our biometrics yesterday. Our appointment was for 3 but we went very early. We got there at 11:30 but the security wouldn't let us in that early, she said the earliest we could come was 2:30. We left, ate lunch and came back at 1:30. She still didn't want to let us in but I explained that we needed to try to be home by 3:30 so she let us in. We stood in a line to give our paperwork to a woman at a counter and then she gave us a number. We were about 30 from the number they were working on. They were calling about 8-10 numbers at a time. They called our number group at about 3. They called our number about 10 minutes later, hubby took about 15 minutes and we left about 3:30. I wish the guard would have let us in when we got there, and I can't imagine what time we would have left if we had gotten there at 3 or even 2:30.

Also, when we got home there was something from USCIS. I couldn't think of what it could be, unless it was the interview appointment. But nope, it was just the paper notification that the case was transferred to CSC.

This way we will be able to see the effect of a RFE on the timeline.. i mean it's not like i'm glad that this is costing us time but at least it will answer the VERY COMMON question of ... I'm wondering why I still can't see our EAD/AP cases in the online case status, yet the Biometrics notice specifically states its for the I485 AND I765? The only one I can see is is I485. Confusing, to say the least...as many of us are on this thread...there are that many different ways our cases are being processed.

Our case was transfered to California on January 14. I received an email confirming the transfer, but i still haven't gotten a hard copy in my mailbox.

My question is....do they always send a notice of the transfer by postal mail?

Thanks

I-131 has not been transferred to CSC.

I have been reading on the forums that it is a good thing for the case to be transferred to CSC since it is more than likely that the GC will be approved without an interview.:)

However, I do not know if so many updates, almost every day since January 17, 2008 is a good sign or not. I am hoping it is a good sign since they are all soft updates and I have not received any email(s) regarding an RFE.

I was also reading about the FP check and Name Check. I do not know if it is true that the cases are transferred to CSC only if these two checks are cleared? There are two schools of opinion on this matter. I personally think that the cases are transferred once FP check is complete and adjudicated when the Name check is complete, provided there are no RFE(s).

why havent I been transferred yet...

Its really aggravating when almost everyone in here has been transferred.

We have not been transfered either. Have any of the Canadians been transfered?

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
