Hello guys!My boyfriend is in Colorado,I am in Israel,we are waiting for K-1 visa, but just only at the start(did not get NOA-1even).But my boyfriend has a problem-he suffers from epilepsy.So,1 week ago he had an attack of epilepsy and fell down and broke his face completelly and was in emergency room in hospital. He told me that he got a paper from doctors that he can't be alone and he needs somebody to take care of him.Now he left a hospital and stays temporary at his old realtive's house just not to be alone. What can we do in this situation?I can't get a tourist visa to America now because I am temporary in Israel. So,how to ask them me to get my K-1 visa right now, urgently? We both want me to come to take care of my fiancee immediatelly. He can get an attack every next moment. We were living together here in Israel 2 last years before he left to US.Please help!!

You can request expedited processing. You'll need to provide a statement from the doctor. There is info on how to do this on the USCIS website. Be aware that even with a medical emergency, they may not expedite your petition, but its worth a try! Good luck to you!

It's not clear to me why you can't get a tourist visa. I've seen spouse's get visas expedited for USC health problems but I'm not sure a fiance would be treated the same. Your fiance would need to inquire about any expediting.

by the time you ever got an expedite, you will be about done with the process anyways..

an expedite is rare.

The president cannot help you. You need to go to USCIS website and follow the instructions for an expedite. Someone in the US will have to help your fiance make the request.

You poor thing I am almost on the verge of tears I feel so bad for you. Do you have an attorney. I know you said you were poor so this could be hard. You definitely need to get any documentation from his doctor stating what the issue is and that he in fact needs assistance and has no one to help him. I am not sure are you able to do the visa waiver program from Israel? If so, I would use that and then show proof that you in fact need to return to Israel for work or doctors appts, etc.

I have heard of a few cases where expedited requests were granted due to ill health of the USC. So, its not impossible. You just need to find someone in the US that can help your fiance process the paperwork. I wish you the best of luck!

People you all are so nice, thank you.We don't have any attorney,we do everything ourselves. My bf filed the documents at July, and at September 20 he had an appointment and he invited a lawyer only for this one day. After the conversation they told him that he gets a case number in a two weeks.Until this moment he did not get nothing. It seems so strange.I am waiting for the next week when he will find out smth about the expediting.Unfortunatelly I can't use the visa waiver program from Israel, because it is not for russian citizens.I am desperated here.

if he filed in July I would have thought he'd have had a case number by now... you say you haven't even got an NOA1? that's very strange, as you say

who was the appointment with, that he took the attorney to?

regardless, if any case is worth a medical expedite, this sounds like it... I sincerely wish you every success in this endeavour; I can imagine you're going mad knowing that he needs your help in such an ongoing way and you're not able to be there for him... I hope it works out for you, and quickly :)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Get documentation from your fiance's doctors, if there is a social worker of some kind at the hospital, have him or her write a letter as well. Write a cover letter explaining the situation. Once you get the NOA1, send them this documentation with a copy of the NOA1.

Expedites should be no more than 5 pages, including your cover letter.

Good luck.

Yeah, July and no NOA1 yet??? Sorry to say, maybe he lost interest.

You said he was staying at family's house, even if everything is true, USCIS will consider that he has family alive and can help him. Plus he is poor, will he even make the poverty cut for salary anyway? I hope he has good medical insurance because this type of problem could lead into 10's of thousands of dollars. I think your odds for expedite are almost zero, but it doesn't hurt to try. You will definately need the help of him or someone in his family with a Power of Attorney to give this a shot. Sorry to sound negative, but there are a lot of sad stories on VJs every day and sometimes things look hopeful and sometimes they don't. Sometimes they sound true and sometimes they leave doubts. I perfer to look at life realistically. There are enough other people in the forum that will give emotional support and cheerleading. Good luck in whatever happens in your life.

I think your chances for getting an expedite are very good under these circumstances. We got our K-1 interview at the consulate moved up by 2 months because of an emergent medical situation where it was helpful for Marlene to be with me.
