I think your chances for getting an expedite are very good under these circumstances. We got our K-1 interview at the consulate moved up by 2 months because of an emergent medical situation where it was helpful for Marlene to be with me.

I can tell you that getting an expedite with the DOS through the embassy is a lot different and easier than getting an expedite through the Department of Homeland Security and USCIS. As I said, doesn't hurt to try...but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Mine was expedited at Vermont, not at the embassy.

Yeah, July and no NOA1 yet??? Sorry to say, maybe he lost interest.

You said he was staying at family's house, even if everything is true, USCIS will consider that he has family alive and can help him. Plus he is poor, will he even make the poverty cut for salary anyway? I hope he has good medical insurance because this type of problem could lead into 10's of thousands of dollars. I think your odds for expedite are almost zero, but it doesn't hurt to try. You will definately need the help of him or someone in his family with a Power of Attorney to give this a shot. Sorry to sound negative, but there are a lot of sad stories on VJs every day and sometimes things look hopeful and sometimes they don't. Sometimes they sound true and sometimes they leave doubts. I perfer to look at life realistically. There are enough other people in the forum that will give emotional support and cheerleading. Good luck in whatever happens in your life.

Actually he is staying temporary at the house of an old woman which knew his father long time ago, just because it's forbidden for him to be alone. He has no family there, just very old parents ,and they live in California and can't help him,but his father signed for him like a co-sponsor.The problem is that my fiance was absent in America during 17 years,he was living in Israel, the last 2 years together with me.We decided to start our new life together in America and he left there first to settle and later to bring me there by K-1 visa.Ofcourse,we did not know that it takes so long time...:-(Now I see that we did a big mistake. But anyway we could not marry in Israel because they don't have civil marriages here, only religious, and I am not jewish to do that, plus I was married those time and I got my divorce only on May 2007.Now my fiance told me that a doctors write for him a paper on 10 pages with MRI and information that it's forbidden for him to be alone. They want to insert there that he needs there me and only me.Everybody were sorry about us in this hospital:-(When he was with me he had a seizures too,but not with so terrible damages. Can all these facts help us to expedite?

I am worrying about our NOA-1,it seems we really did not get it,I read at the russian wive's forum that people are waiting for their NOA-1 for a long time too:-(It seems USCIS is overloaded:-(Is it a chance to start expediting without getting NOA-1?

Anyway,I think that epilepsy is enough serious problem to look like a reason for expediting.Thank to all for your advises:-)

We faxed a letter to the immigrant visa section at the consulate. Your petition would have to already be approved and forwarded to the consulate. If you don't have approval yet, you'll have to make the request to USCIS.
