I waited tables FOREVER...to get through college, grad school etc. I am the biggest advocate of tipping. Even if you service isn't PERFECT, I always tip 20%. Servers make LESS THAN $3 an hour...that means they work for TIPS.

If the food is bad - that's not their fault.

If the steak isn't cooked right - not their fault.

ALWAYS TIP PEOPLE!

...and don't forget the maid at any hotel/inn/motel you stay at too! :innocent:

I aways tip the pizza delivery but what if they are late? Should you still give them a tip?

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

They were probably driving around and couldn't find your house and were crying really hard and maybe on the phone to their mom asking her to use mapquest to help me.

Uh, maybe that's just my experience... no seriously, late pizza is pretty much never the pizza delivery guy's fault, unless he seems stoned, in which case, yeah probably his fault.

i always tip unless i get bad service but...

personally i think its bs the public has to pay for a server/busboy/bartender/runner/etc salary! chefs in the back are the one's who REALLY get stiffed. they make sh*t money AND don't get tips! but at least its stable money. you know what you're coming home with. but a server, depending on where (and obviously not a pizza delivery guy) can make tons of money.

Charles, you never miss a beat. :D

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I don't tip waiters when they treat me like #######. Some do that, you know?

Order mistakes? I understand.

Food is not good? I understand they didn't cook it.

Waiter ignores you, speaks to you as if you owed him something, throw things at your table as opposed as setting them down? I don't tip.

I completely agree and I always tip AT LEAST 20%. More if the service is exceptional. And I do understand that order mistakes and the food quality has nothing to do with the waiter. Good service = good tip. Horrible service = . . . I still tip, but only minimally. When I was in high school, I used to leave pennies in an upside-down glass of water. Good thing I grew up.
