Thanks for the help so far everyone. We have kind of a unique situation. We were married online in Utah while I was in the states and my wife was abroad. I then “proposed” when we were together. I realize this may bring up questions. We had been talking about getting married and when I found out it worked online we decided to do it that night. I still wanted to give a ring and do the traditional thing so I did that when I was back in Colombia. Would you include photo proof of the proposal even if it raises questions?

No, this doesn't make sense and can invalidate marriage in the eyes on USCIS

No

Doing a quick and dirty will (most states have government published default templates for non-complex cases) also is useful.

I’d add that if you register your marriage in Colombia I also wouldn’t upload that as evidence. Latin American registros civiles are extremely particular on how things are recorded and if it lists the effective date of marriage as the day registered rather than the date of marriage it could also raise questions.

Agree with others, keep it simple.

Add evidence you added your wife as a beneficiary to your financial and insurance accounts, non proposal pictures, evidence of your visits.

Thank you. Trying to get as much evidence as possible. It’s a little harder for proof since she doesn’t have a SSN. I’ve added her to my credit cards, we have a lease together in Colombia, and we have a lot of photos of time/trips together.

That is helpful to know. I won’t include our marriage certificate from here then.

Many things might ask for SSN, but it's not necessary required.  For example, you could designate a foreigner as a beneficiary of your life insurance/financial accounts/pension, and they might never live in the US/get a SSN.  You're still able to designate who you want to get the money.

I would include evidence of the presentation of the ring. I would call it what it is, not a "proposal".  It's not uncommon to marry without a ring and present it later.
