For marriage based green cards at the embassy, do you still need to present proof of relationship even though the I-130 was already approved? If so ae photos alone ok?

 

Also, what kind of questions will they ask a step child for their interview as well?

The I-130 is only approval of the petition, the visa application is entirely separate.

Make sure you check the country specific guidelines too. 

 

Your stepchild isn't likely to be asked much, and may not even have an interview depending on age.

Yes, interview is in a few weeks at the local embassy. Their interviews were both scheduled at the same time.

Everyone should bring everything that verifies a bona fide relationship and adequate finances.

The  best evidence of relationship is evidence of time spent together in person.  Photos together are secondary evidence.  Passport stamps, boarding passes, and hotel receipts, etc. are primary evidence.  Do bring recent photos together and if the petitioner has visited since filing the petition, updated evidence will be available.

 

Just as a point of education, the bar to get a petition approved is very different from approving a visa application.  At the petition stage, all that is really adjudicated is whether the petitioner is indeed a US Citizen, whether both of you were free to marry, when you married, and that you actually are legally and lawfully married.  Although relationship evidence is expected as supporting documentation, these cases take so long, that there is usually updated evidence available.  It is the Consular Officer only who will decide about the affidavit of support (public charge concern) and whether the marital relationship is bona fide.  This is where the "rubber meets the road", not the petition stage.

Bring whatever you have just to be safe.  The officer may look at some of it, all of it, or none of it.  In our case, the officer looked through our wedding photos and that's all.  Don't forget updated I-864 and I-864 supporting docs in case it's been a long time since you were DQ'd and you've filed new taxes since then.

Further to above comments, it's always better to bring too much and not need it than the converse.
