My question is how in the heck did this person manage to enter with guns?!?

Do you think there is anything specific to prevent anyone from entering a hotel anywhere in the US with a gun without issue? I've been very loyal to Hilton for years. That hotel in particular has about 1000 rooms.. it is a vast place, and you can walk all over without ever encountering anyone, which is like many of their hotels. A few I've been in have penthouse apartments for people that want to live in a prime location for a price and value privacy. For people with particular perks, special access card or phone will get you all over their hotels without ever being noticed. Some you can check in/check out on the app. That has led to me observing all sorts of crazy going on. All the guy had to do was check in days or weeks before. Don't know if he did any sort of reconnaissance beforehand, but he wouldn't need to leave the hotel to encounter any checkpoints and there are ways to get out alternative exits without ever being seen. By all accounts for guests coming in to the event, they barely glanced at the tickets and the metal detector was apparently right near the basement conference room entrance. The hotel is only going to provide so much security, the rest is up to the Secret Service, and well.. not sure how great they did here. The only reason no one was hurt or killed was due to the guy's stupidity.

During hunting season I see a lot of hotel customers coming out in camo gear, I assume they keep their guns in their hotel rooms rather than leave them in their vehicles.

The Secret Service did keep this guy from actually getting into the ballroom from what I could tell.  In that type of setting, that is about as well as to be expected as what you said about security in hotels is spot.

Rep. Andy Ogles Says There Was a Reporter Who Said, 'I Hope They Kill the Orange MF'

 

By all accounts, the White House Correspondents' Association dinner on Saturday night was a packed house, from people who've spoken up about a lack of security in the hotel.  That's odd, because we'd heard from plenty of journalists and pundits who said they had no respect for any reporter who would attend with President Trump in attendance.

The dining room was packed with politicians, journalists, and their guests.  A would-be assassin thought this would be his opportunity to get close enough to kill the president, but apparently, that was on the minds of some of the guests as well.  Rep. Andy Ogles isn't naming names, but he says that as he was crouched under a table after the sound of gunfire rang out, he heard a journalist say, "I hope they kill the orange MF."

Trump Enters Ceasefire Talks With Democrats

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Trump announced on Monday that his administration had officially entered into ceasefire talks with the Democrats.

"I'm hoping they'll stop trying to kill me," he said.  "It would make my presidency run a lot smoother if I could just be alive."

According to White House officials, Trump sent a delegation that included Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance to personally negotiate a ceasefire with Democrats.  Rubio would reportedly be taking the lead in negotiations, while JD Vance would stand in the back looking menacing throughout the meetings.
