Why a K1?

Mostly because me and my fiancée haven't actually married yet.

I know the CR-1 was also a possibility but I am pretty sure that one would require us to marry here in Brazil and then go through the process of acquiring it for the trip.

It is more inconvenient because I can speak English decently well but my fiancée cannot speak Portuguese.

It could be useful and it is definitely Plan B for the moment, but since we are not yet married we would need a K-1!

Ideally we would get a K-1 so we can hold the wedding ceremony in America where she will be more comfortable and we will also be able to invite all of our friends more easily!

Depends entirely on the nature and subject of the images, but I think you know that.

K-1 isn’t a great option for you because you will not be able to work for up to 8 months when you arrive.

I do know that under 18 content is strictly illegal and it is the same here too. I don't work with anything like that and never will. I am mostly just afraid about +18 stuff and how that would be viewed in the environment of the interview, you know?

Admittedly, not being able to work is a downside because I would like to be able to help out the household financially as soon as I arrive. Of course I would like that, but it isn't the case! If I have to wait, I have to wait.

We are accounting for and prepared for that downtime when it comes! Until I can actually work, I will not do anything of the sort.

It's ok, it gives me plenty of time to refine my cooking and cleaning skills haha

Check out the Utah Zoom wedding.  Lots of VJ members have done it, with no issues later petitioning their spouses.

It would require you to meet in person before she files the petition, but the (huge) upside is that you will have a green card upon entry, can work immediately, and travel internationally (both of those don't happen without special documents during AOS).

The petition processing time for the spousal visa is about the same as for the fiance.

Ah, I see...

On the DS-160 it does ask me to list my socials!

Oh gosh... I didn't know that was a thing

That sounds much more streamlined, yeah... And it would be pretty awesome to have the green card for work too!

But wouldn't this invalidate the current K-1 process?

Yes, it would be a separate process.  How far into the K-1 are you?

My understanding is you are obligated to provide info on links to any social media you have now. This is the same for the DS-260 (so spousal visa) application.

ESTA might be different, but even on the tourist visa DS-160 you have to list you social media accounts now.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the attention, first of all.

Secondly, obviously I won't be going into details about any of what I do. But, you know, like the title implies there will be mentions of +18 topics so please keep that in mind if it makes you uncomfortable.

With that being said:

I'm in a bit of a situation here!

Me and my fiancée have been in the process of filing for a K-1 for quite some time now.

We have received the NOA2 and are on the process of preparing for the interview process. However, I have been having some issues filing the DS-160.

See, I work with providing Adult-Oriented Commissioned Digital Artwork. Pornography. Straight up no ifs or buts. VERY kinky at that.

For the last couple of days I have been having trouble figuring out if that would be an issue during the interview process.

I know I need to inform the Consulate of my main source of income, and this is it! I draw. But I have no clue if this is something that would be considered undesirable for the interview process. Or even downright illegal, I have been having a lot of trouble determining where the U.S stands when it comes to pornographic digital artwork being illegal.

I am going to provide them with my socials (which will be damn awkward I am sure) but what can I do? I use Twitter to advertise myself, I need to give them my Twitter profile both for the sake of it being a social platform I use and also part of what makes my job work.

At least, that is what I think I need to do...

Frankly, I wouldn't really know what to do in case it is something that will get me denied from the Visa. Because this is what I do for a living, there is no way around that. And I don't think lying will get me anywhere.

I think I am just asking to know what I should be prepared to listen from the consulate?

Is it okay to inform them what I do for a living in this case?

Hey there, I would be 110% honest with the consulate. Social media of all kinds make sure it is known. So long that it is not illegal I do not see it being an issue. They are going to check your paperwork and the validity of your relationship that is it and that is all. So long your finances meet the standard abd you go through the process.
