I really don’t think the Israeli response is going to pay much heed to the collateral damage caused.

 

After all the resolutions condemning Israel, the upcoming UN vote on a resolution condemning the attack will be most revealing and could cripple the UN’s reputation.

Ahh, the ineffective governor of the State of Michigan weighed in sort of.  Not sure if she was referring to Israel or Ukraine, or some other hotspot in the world.  On another note, why does the US MSM label Hamas "militants" when they did not attack IDF military installations, but rather locations housing the general population.  Seems to me when you do that, you earn the tag terrorist.  Also wondering how long before ABlinken and the Biden Admin. start calling for restraint?  I give it a week or less depending on how hard Israel responds.

I won’t give them that much leeway. In my opinion, this was to be the official response before 2 things became apparent:

 

1. The number of fatalities was going to rise well beyond the early reports and the realization dawned that this wasn’t a small incursion.

 

2. There were U.S. citizens among the casualties and possibly among the hostages.

 

Once reality hit, the administration knew that restraint was neither warranted, nor advisable in the current geopolitical landscape. A rapid take-down was ordered, but the internet is forever and the original message was out in the wild.

Reflections on Israel's New Existential War
 

There have been plenty of terrorist attacks on Israel.  A dozen or so conventional wars of various magnitude have been waged against the Jewish state.  And more often there have been mixtures of both.

Yet never have hundreds of gangs of black-clad murderers carefully planned to swarm Israel, with an agenda to pull random Jews out of their homes and off the street, murder them, and toss their bodies in the street.

In fact, the closest parallel to the sort of methods Hamas is now embracing is something close to the Rwanda 1994 mass killing, when swarms of Hutu militia killers launched a preplanned murder spree against thousands of Tutsi civilians.

Note one common theme of these horrific videos of the murdering of young women: the bloodthirst of the Gaza crowd.  There appears a natural desire of everyday Gazans to video the mutilations, an embrace of the spitting on the doomed, a frenzied effort to mutilate the dead—and the absence of a single Gazan objecting to the group murder of a civilian.
