I've always loved all animals. But lately I want to wring the necks of my dachshunds all 4 of them.  I'm loving the kittens even if I've been cleaning the litter box. It's supposed to be the Jedi's job, but I'm testing out different litters and need to make sure I pick the right one. Then it will be all on him.

The dachshunds can be trained to eat the cat poop!  Some dogs will do this because of the high protein content.

Toward this, I consider the following factors:

 -- Cat T-B. is a curious busybody (= not unusual for cats)

 -- Cat T-B. remains mystified by her electronic litterbox and climbs in while it's in action

 -- Cat T-B. doesn't recognize her carrier, easing the job of throwing her into it for vet visits

The above, at least the last 2, arguably indicate some level of stoopidity.

 

Then, there are these factors:

 -- Cat T-B. demands meal/treat/brushing service at fairly consistent times

 -- Cat T-B. demands play by dropping her feather-rollers at my feet

These arguably indicate some level of non-stoopidity.

Traumatic.  She screamed all the way there and all the way back.

She wasn't catchable during a serving of treats.

Had to serve her an early lunch and nab her right after setting the bowl down.

If she weren't such a piglet, she'd never trust me again during meal service.

However, unlike Cats T-B. #1 & #2, she doesn't recognize the carrier when it's present, so that's a boon.

My boy cat now resorts to peeing every time I stick him into the carrier.  I've resorted to putting 2 puppy pads in there so he pees, I pull the soiled one out and we continue on our journey.  He still complains loudly the entire ride there and back.

Cat T-B recognizes that carrier as prison.  Prison might lead to a pawdicure or it might lead to the vet for torture....who knows!  Tiny kitty brains think the worst.

A THREAD ABOUT CATS!!??? YES!!! PLEASE allow me to join this thread. Cats have been in my life throughout my short 34 years of life. I was the cat-lady at the farm that cared for the all the barncats, walked in the shelterbelt with a whole gang following me, found most of the new litters, and had names for all of them...even the un-tame ones. 

Here are our two doofuses Mac and Minino. Hand raised since 5 days of life after their mother died.

Omg they are too cute. I'm glad you were able to save them. Poor mommy kitty. 

We have a few cats that belong across the street that like to sit on our chicken coop. My daughter likes them to keep the rat population down. She wanted to go collect strays and put them back there too. But now we have the ones from across the street that has helped.

Cat T-B. somehow got shut in a dresser drawer that I don't even remember having opened.

I was hearing faint "mius" in my bedroom but figured that she was under the bed.

A couple of hours later when I re-entered the bedroom, I heard more faint mius.

I opened the drawer, and Cat T-B. popped out.

Fortunately, no bathroom needs were apparent during said confinement.

Also fortunately, no asphyxiation was involved.

 

This reminds me of when Previous Cat T-B. got shut in the linen closet.

Mrs. T-B. & I looked all over the casa for the source of the mius.

We even went out in our back yard -- and the neighbor's back yard.

It was strange how the mius sounded like they were coming from elsewhere.

My boy cat likes to dart out the back door to roll on the concrete and spy on the tree rats.  The tree rats get very hot under the collar at his presence - it's actually entertaining because they'll run along the fence and yell to me about the cat outside. 

 

ANYWAY, he'll saunter down the side of the house to go sniff whatever.  He's an old boomer who's smart enough to realize there's no way he's going to be a "real" cat and actually hunt for his food.  Because he's just hanging out, sometimes we'll forget he's outside.  But, he comes and scratches at the door, just like the dog does.  So, at least we know when he wants in.  We also do the "inventory" to make sure all souls are accounted for before we head to bed if they aren't already under foot or in our bed, waiting for us.

This is crucial.  Outdoors is no place for a pet overnight.

 

Still don't know how Cat T-B. got into that dresser drawer that I don't even remember opening.

Must be part of this Truth of Life:  At the earliest possible moment, every box & bag in the house must have a cat in it.
