Oh no! I turned in my original divorce decree with wet signature together with my K1 application. My fiancée has just a copy. Should I get another new one from the court so I can give it to her prior to her interview.

When I turned in my K1 application, I included my original divorce decree with a wet signature. I gave my fiancée a copy. She will be having an interview next month. I would like to know if a copy of my divorce decree is good enough for her interview for Manila consulate.

Now my question is : would they allow her for interview and have the divorce decree be turned in at a later day?

It has to be an original certified copy from the court.  US Embassy Manilla will not accept a printed scan or photocopy of the court's certification. US Embassy Manilla has been handing out many 221gs lately on just that issue.

Yes.  She would likely receive a 221G for missing documents.

If you need to send her an original copy from WA State, LBC Express has branches in Seattle and Tacoma if that works out. For documents from San Diego to Luzon, LBC charged us $12 and took 5 days with tracking.  FedEx, UPS or DHL were charging like $80 or more.

Do you how long does it take for the court from Hawaii to process my request. It does not say in their form. It only say $10fee.

You would have to ask the court about that.  I'm sure every court in the country is different.  Some courts might handle it same day but I have also heard of courts requiring a written request.  Also make sure it's a certified copy.  Some courts have the copy, and the certification, as two seperate fees..

Manila will not need an original of your divorce decree.  

 

As an aside, you should be asking these Manila specific questions in the Philippines regional forum so you can avoid general replies from those unfamiliar with what Manila needs

When did Manila start requesting original divorce decrees from K1 petitioners?  I never provided said document to my fiance for her interview.

Back in 2021, the CO at USEM was fine with the scanned-then-printed copy of my petitioner's divorce decree.  This year it seems like they're handing out 221g letters for originals/certified copies of divorce decrees.
