It is beyond common to transfer Russian cases as most can not get into the EU. Quite a few posts in the  Regional forum about this.

 

Interesting case you mentioned now there are a lot of cases on here where the beneficiary is working overseas and interviews overseas without issue.

My wife actually got a Schengen visa (for Greece) but we were still able to transfer the case the Jerusalem. So I don't think it's an absolute rule that you have to be denied the Schengen in order to transfer (to Jerusalem).

Yep, I read up on your situation after joining too (new to the site and just getting settled in as I prepare to sort all this out for us). I didn't ask only because you've been active and seem to be updating us all as things unfold already.

 

I was actually hoping that other countries might be open to taking the rejected Schengen into account too. I'm not opposed to going to Jerusalem, but it seems like so much of this stuff is on the whim of whomever is working at the consulate and changes by the week and I'm a bit worried that they currently seem like the only real option.  OP seemed open to any other country, so was hoping to see if they maybe found luck elsewhere too.

My fiance and I were able to successfully transfer our case to Jerusalem. On this forum people are saying it's the only embassy that will take Russians right now. It was the first one we tried. It took about month for the transfer to process after they confirmed they would take the case. Now we're wait for appointments. When we log into the portal to schedule an interview, it literally says that there are no appointments available and that we should check back later. Absolutely no indication of when more appointments will be available.

We've got an interview spot for December 19th a couple days before the whole thing started. Not sure if we'll transfer to another post, but hopefully Jerusalem's embassy will start processing visas some time soon (I'm probably being very optimistic here).

 

Does anyone know how many times can an immigration officer extend the validity of NOA2? I read somewhere that it was 2 times, up to a 1 year total, but I'm finding a conflicting information now. The reason I ask is that maybe waiting several months (& being rescheduled) is better than trying to transfer the case elsewhere, considering that we already have an interview date.

Welcome to the forum!

Typically, they can extend a petition's validity in 4-month increments for up to a year.

It's best to request this via e-mail, putting the case number in the Subject line.

I don't know what happens in the instance of turmoil like this, but I imagine that flexibility applies.

I heard of one case in Jerusalem whose October interview was rescheduled for April, which is a pretty long wait. If I were you I'd wait until December to see if there's a better chance of the embassy reopening, and if not, then look at transfering. We had an interview scheduled in December too, but we have now been transferred back to Warsaw. I simply asked Warsaw if it was too late to cancel the transfer to Jerusalem, but they took the initiative to take our case back without waiting for a formal request from us.

When did you schedule your interview? I've been trying since the end of September to schedule but no appointments have been available.

 

I have had it twice now in the last two weeks where it actually showed one that an appointment was available and it let me progress to the Hyp CreditGaurd payment screen, but every time I tried to pay, it either never stopped spinning while processing or gave me a "Payment Failed! Refusal. Use alternative method" message. After two days the appointment(s) were gone.

 

For anyone who has managed to schedule - when you got to the payment stage, on the right side of the screen it says "First Appointments Available" and lists dates below. When you scheduled, were there multiple dates listed or just one? The two times I saw dates, there was only one and it was only a week away. I wonder, do they only display the earliest date and there could be more, or was it really the only available date, probably a cancellation?

My fiancé's interview is on November 14th in Jerusalem. We will wait and see how everything unfolds. If it goes sideways, we might opt for the Schengen through France and ultimately return to Poland for her interview.

Im sorry I can't really help because I'm brining my husband on a Ir1 visa and unlike the k1 visa we didn't need to pay to schedule the appointment. I can send you a telegram forum (its in russian) but your fiance would be able to ask there. They have a great admin who works with immigration cases and a lot of k1 visa applicants.
