... how much need is there for additional control of unruley posts (members)?

Little to none. This being a message board and all, there is some unpleasantness but nothing that warrants more moderation. You are never going to be at the point where you have a message board where no one's getting upset over something. That shouldn't even be the problem. I'd approach this with one criteria only - are the immigration fora still a good place to exchange information about this process? Is there a single user or group of users that are systematically hindering that? If not, there is no real need for mods.

No matter what some people say, I suggest we all resist the urge to micromanage.

JMHO, of course.

Yeah! Who wants dictatorship at the end of the journey?

Good plan!!

I also think this a good plan.. It's good to have some detachment between the enforcers and the posters... the more experienced posters can continue to do what they always have been doing.. reporting posts when things get out of hand..

I'm curious too as I am in there a lot. There is old posts yes....but no point in those assigned to move them to that with older posts as that will inundate other forums with them at the forefront. IMO best to let those ones ride.

You really want to make me work, don't you... okay, there were a couple of posts asking about questions about what happens once they get to the US and what's this thing called AOS... and somebody asking about leaving the US once they get there. The new post at the top of the K1 forum for one entitled 'Permanent Residency'... and another one entitled 'work authorisation'... there were more but I see somebody's started the tidyup and moved them to the appropriate places already.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8022 is a great example. Why on Earth is this in the K-1 forum? It has nothing to do with K-1 visas. As well, we've had an awful lot of drama around here lately that could have been contained more quickly if there were more active moderators.

As it has been pointed out to others with their shorts in a knot, what part of "General Discussion Area > Off Topic" don't you understand?

That thread was originally in the K1 forum and was subsequently moved to off topic (where there was already another thread to match it).

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I agree there should be some mods keeping on eye on the boards but just have to say this if you don't mind... I frequent a Lost Forum and the mods there have turned into horrible people LOL.. seriously they shut down posts left and right and move things around so much.. I get that theres no need for redundant postings but sometimes going thru 25 pages to find what you are looking for can be a bit much... I just would hate if that happened here since this site is so valuable to so many of us

Theres my 2 cents (or 2pence LOL) ;)
