Thrilling Monday report, see man:

Got Mini-B. to skool in the continuing monsoon, groggy man.

Mega-caffeination didn't help, so we went back to bed, zzz we man.

Miu is delighted that both Daddy and Big Bruddah are present, attention-gluttonous miu man.

Lunch was onecan of Progresso chicken noodle soup*, ingest we man.

Mini-B. finally mostly finished that one, e-mailed the teechur with stuckpoints wee man man.

Will attend History tutorial early Tuesday to do that late one, need skoolbook wee man.

As a boon, Mini-B. managed to accomplish his pre-bed stuff exactly by revised deadline, small victory man.

Excellent on the 2 classes.  Gotta start somewhere, right?

Kid2 and I did Science Fair last weekend.  I have as much love for it as you do...I don't.  Thank goodness we don't have to do it next year!

Sunday, Kid2 was asked to begin Math homework many times throughout the day.  Kid refused.  Kid1 took advantage and did Physics with Hubs.  Kid2 came down at 8:30pm or something with HOURS of work to do.  Had moments of frustration and anger and worked until 11pm.  Send Kid2 to bed to get said child up at 7am Monday morning to finish the last few questions.

Fast forward a few hours and Hubs gets a text from Kid2 "I'm rather displeased at the moment." M'kay, why?  "The homework we finished this morning is due Tuesday."  🤷‍♀️ Guess you get a night off because it's already finished!  Should pay better attention in class!

The same kid also gleefully delighted later in the day.  "Would you like to know how I did on my Science exam?" Well, yes, assuming by the tone of the text that the result was good.  "100%"

The kid could have 90%+ average in all classes with a little bit of effort!

Thrilling Tuesday report, see man:

Non-monsoon rain off & mostly on, How Dry We Aren't man.

Arose at o'dark-Many to get Mini-B. to History tutorial, finish late assignment wee man.

Learned that History teechur was absent, :ranting: man!

Mini-B. claims to have finished the project, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

Still groggy from trip, travel hangover we man.

Weakly intended to hit Costco, purchases + lunch man.

Of course, it began raining right then, forget it man.

Lunch was onepouch of microwave "Japanese curry noodles*," disgustingly ingest we man.

*bought at a previous ES, financially savvy we man

It was among the worst comestible item that we've ever consumed, blecccch man.

However, it was cheap and filling, ingest anyway we man.

We actually used mouthwarsh afterward, highly necessary man.

Who would ever buy that revolting glop at full retail, huh man?

A restorative siesta was taken with no interruptive calls or texts, zzz we man.

Not raining at skool pickup, well-timed respite man.

Mini-B. bombed Non-P-Math quiz, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

Mini-B. was told to complete Science project and turn it in ASAP, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

Din-din was Korean chicken followed by ice cream, ingest Two Guys man.

Mini-B. completed** a partially done English assignment, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

**completable in half-of-half an hour but took over an hour

Between running downstairs to help/yell at Mini-B., we, see man:

-- wrote to Science teechur, promising completion man.

-- wrote to Non-P-Math teechur, promising early-morn Tutorial attendance man.

-- wrote to Band teechur, explaining priority of Non-P-Math tutorial over Sectionals man.

-- wrote to English teechur, alerting to assignment completion man.

-- wrote to History teechur, lobbying for acceptance of assignment upon return man.

Mini-B. took >2 hours flailing about on Science project, arcane questions man.

We finally researched the Texas Water Development Board & Texas Environmental Quality Commission sites, partial information gained man.

Nowhere on the Internet or in ChatGPT is information on the Sabine River water table's depth, no man.

Got Mini-B. embedded half + half-of-half an hour late, embed wee man we man.

We are Many00% exhausted yet again, this has to stop man.

Must arise at o'dark-Many on Wednesday to take Mini-B. to Non-P-Math tutorial, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

Must go back with him after din-din for "Many'th-grade course selection," yeah like that's realistic man.

He then reported a headache & backache, chip off the old block man.

We suggested Movie Night, hadn't had one all week man.

Mini-B. soon agreed, and we watched Many episodes of Young Sheldon, watch Two Guys man.

Many (2+2+2) -- si man, Many (2+2+2) -- bowls of Costco popcorn were eaten, ingest Two Guys man.

Mini-B. agreed that this was rejuvenating, intense week man.

We extended his bedtime, badly rushed all week previously man.

Awoke yesterday to discover my FiL had been in a serious hit and run accident. Police cannot find the scum that did this. He's pretty badly banged up. Husband is beside himself. It's a small town and it's the UK where there's cameras everywhere, they've got to find these guys somehow?

Met with the friend going through divorce. Implored to seek out lawyer and gave a list of some good ones I think will be helpful. As much as I'd like to take this chick to task for hurting this guy and his child, no sense in me getting too involved. Only keep stressing he needs to stand up to her and get angry enough to fight legally. I'm pretty sure she's got to be having an affair and he doesn't realize it yet.

Spent the rest of the day doing housework. The smell of bleach in a freshly clean bathroom gives me joy. Cleaned out fridge... and found a jug of six day old expired milk (I don't drink this but others do and I just... how do you not notice???!!). Then noted all the stuff that needs to be taken to the dump in spring. I don't know where my parents manage to constantly collect stuff but it's crazy. They have a set of encyclopedias from the 60s. No one wants to take them or has some kind of restrictions on taking them, but my parents don't want them to go to the dump.... well what else can I do here?

So since my last check-in here, we've

- Visited the Raleigh area between Christmas and New Years (mini-Dave was informed that Santa knew we would be flying early Christmas morning and so stopped at our place on Christmas Eve) to evaluate potential relocation (we want a house with a yard, to be closer to my family, to save money, and we don't really have close friends or family out here). Parents drove up from Florida to meet us after Christmas morning with my brother and his wife and kid (even more mini than mini-Dave) and so got there the next day. Saw many houses (generally accompanied by papa-Dave while mini-Dave got some grandma time), checked out things to do for mini-Dave (children's museums, indoor playgrounds, parks). Had a good time, really liked the area, and concluded we could in fact get a nice many (2*2) - bedroom house with almost twice the square footage of our townhouse in a good school district for less than we paid for our townhouse. Found a couple places we really liked, though as the one we liked the most had the highest list price, we wanted to see what we could get for our place before making any offers.

- Talked to realtor we used to buy our place about selling, concluded we could probably get $many00,000. Did a bunch of touch up work and minor repairs, got pictures taken. Realtor suggested we could raise listing price based on interest levels. Got multiple offers for $many many 0,000, and accepted one after just one weekend with our place on the market.

- Made an offer for the place we liked the most (still on the market, yay), but ended up needing to slightly revise that upward to get the place (which we did).

- Made all sorts of arrangements with movers, car rental places, hotels, and such to get ready to move

- So now after almost many (2*2*2*2 + 2*2*2 - 1) years in San Diego, I'm leaving. With as much as I moved around between middle school and two years after college, I never really expected to be in city that long, to be honest.

Thrilling Thursday report, see man:

Because of skool-related exhaustion, we felt sick as a canine this morning, ouch we man.

We went nowhere except on skool runs, impaired we man.

We took 2 siestas, second better than the first man.

We were surprised that our temperature was close to Many. Many degrees F., normal man.

All that we accomplished all day was to clean miu's box, long-overdue man.

Lunch was Costco chicken salad on 2 Costco bagels, ingest we and overbought the latter we man.

Mini-B. did fine for his Band playing-test, good man.

Mini-B. got a (barely) passing grade on his 2-day Science effort, oh well man.

Mini-B. had a big English project due by midnight, kept saying it was almost done man.

Mini-B. had a forgotten History project also due by midnight, purportedly one page man.

Din-din was salad + hot dogs, ingest Two Guys man.

Mini-B. then embarked on his English project, seemingly plenty of time man.

Many (2+2+1) -- si man, Many (2+2+1) -- hours later, Mini-B. wasn't done, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

We rushed to have him make proofreading corrections, a great many man.

This left barely half an hour to do the History paper, :girlwerewolf2xn: man.

With our aid, he completed most of a sloppy job and tried to download it to PDF, minutes remaining man.

The document hung for Many minutes, frustrating man.

It was past midnight, devastated we man.

We made him a PB&J sandwich and said that we would write the teechur, soothe wee man we man.

Mini-B. did his pre-embedding routine and got embedded at 1 a.m., way past usual man.

We gently noted that he probably didn't want to repeat this debacle, violently agree wee man with we man man.

Maybe this will serve as a real-time, real-life lesson and engender reformed habits/attitudes, hope we man.

We wrote Band teechur to excuse Mini-B. from early rehearsal, no option man.

Mini-B. has an after-skool Band function anyway, long day for wee man man.

We have tentatively itineraried up to Many (2+2) ESs for Friday, must still map them man.

We are not equipped to withstand the rigors of Many'th grade, obviously man!

As for the encyclopedias, would you be allowed to do folded book art?  I realize there's probably like 40 of the damned things, but eh...maybe if you can make something old, new again, they'll be more willing to let them go.

Painful truth: unlikely.

I mean, if they paid us like we lived in San Francisco, we could afford to stay in San Diego (we want to see my family more than 2-3 times a year, and PRGs at least once a year*). However, no one seemed willing to do this.

New job is going pretty well three months in, and both PRG and I are fully remote (and I mostly work with people in Eastern time anyway). So that's fine.

One time thing.

 * If flying from 'Murrica to Russia becomes possible again. If it's third-country meetups or workarounds to get into Russia (and as long as I'm working for a defense contractor, I think the latter is likely PRG traveling alone or with mini-Dave but without me) indefinitely, I think it'll probably be every other year, but want to make a third-country meetup this summer happen because it'll have been five years. Mini-Dave still has one living great-grandparent in Russia who we'd like to get to see him in person at least once, but that'll take going to Russia (if she were fifteen years younger, would be easier to convince to go outside of Russia than PRG's mom).
