Hi! Morisson law firm told me I could file after 10 days after my interview…

10 days?  I think that is inviting disaster.

Why 10 days, I think the question is not when you can but when you should.

You can file the minute you have $5k for the fee.   Is it wise?   Not necessarily.

So, the justification when it is written is "I have been waiting for 10 days"?  I fail to see how 10 days is excessive for some regions of the world.  Of course, I am not the decision maker.

1 to 2 weeks is pretty normal, so filing after 10 days means many/most people would file on that basis at a not insignificant cost.

Plus I could see them fighting, Judge it has only been 10 days, that is not unreasonable.

I’m just saying what they told me. Didn’t say I was gonna do it. Calm down.

I am perfectly calm.   It was a rhetorical question not aimed at you personally.  It was aimed at the attorney.  Attorneys don't always give good advice.

Hi! I know exactly how you’re feeling. I am an Iranian born female who has been living in the Netherlands since 3 years old. I never had an Iranian passport ever. And also I got the DS5535 after my interview. I am not going to wait another 6-12 months in AP after waiting almost two years for the interview. I’m gonna file a WOM soon because I think for Iranians it’s just really bad luck…and it’s so unfair :(

I am iranian too. I had an interview on September 2023 for k1 visa. Unfortunately i got administrative processing. I do not know how long do i need to wait?! Already i waited for 16 months.

if your case updated or any further info, please let me know. I appreciate it.

Hey Milad, I got an update on my wom today. I got an extension of 30 days. It means they “need more time” to look into my case. After extension they can always dimiss it. If you want my advice, don’t file too soon or don’t file at all. They are dismissing so many cases now. It’s just going to be a waste of money. We’ll see how it goes after my extension, but I don’t believe the outcome will be positive.

Hello My husband just completed his interview in Abu Dhabi Embassy on 12 October for a IR1 visa.  He was asked to fill in the DS 5355 and was placed under administrative processing.  He is Iraqi national.  We sent back the form on 13 October and the status has reflected the same.  Please advise how long did it take you to get an update and issue your visa?

What is the update on your visa status?

Not sure who you're asking but the thread is about those with K1 visas - so might be worth starting your own new thread instead. Although with AP it's a 'how long is a piece of string' thing really, and will vary hugely so one applicant's timeline isn't likely to be relevant to you. It can take weeks, months or years, no way of knowing unfortunately.

In 2 weeks, it'll mark half a year since I started waiting in this AP limbo after sending in DS-5535. I'm not sure if waiting this long is considered "unreasonable delay". I lost all faith in US immigration process and I can't just keep waiting forever without any updates. My fiancé and I decided to initiate the process of filing for WOM. I signed a contract with Jim Hacking LLC and paid the attorney fees. I'll keep you all in the loop with updates here.
