Best thing I ever won was a green card

I never enter competitions and always think I should as someone has to win.

My friend has this whole "system" to winning competitions, which I have tried very hard to emulate and so far have only won a case of smirnoff ice! She was born under the right sign, that is for sure.

I did win $200 gift certificate in an office raffle and I've won a few big jackpots in Vegas.

I won front row tickets and back stage passes to see my favorite band, the Counting Crows. It had always been a dream of mine to meet Adam Duritz, the lead singer. I have great memories of the event with pictures, autographs, and stories. People told me I was crazy to enter the contest 400 times. But, when you know what you want, you do what you have to do to ensure a favorable outcome. Guess I showed them.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

When I was 9 years old I filled in a card for a drawing for four tickets to Wet n' Wild...it was at Kroger's while my mom was doing her weekly grocery shopping. The rules were that you had to be over 18 to win, but when they called me to tell me I'd won I was so excited that they gave it to me anyway...because who is going to say no to a delighted 9 year-old girl! My mom took me, my brother, and a friend to Wet n' Wild and IT WAS AWESOME.

I've won little things here and there. Nothing grand. First thing was a Bic Banana (pen) in Grade 9. Last thing was a bottle of champagne for knowing all the movies the activities guys were acting out in a resort in Mexico. I am expecting to win the lottery sometime soon, though.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I won £1000 (about $2000) in the staff lottery at my old job. That was pretty cool...

Other than that, the ONLY things I have ever won, as far as I can remember are:

A crappy board game when I was 6 years old, in a raffle.

An enormous stuffed toy penguin, when I was about 9, in some 'guess where the buried treasure is' game at a school fete. I realllllly wanted that penguin, I was possibly more pleased about winning that than I was about the £1000 about 20 years later.

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png
