You can check on the USCIS website what the processing times are but for EAD at NBC it is 8.5 months. I'm surprised you haven't had your appointment yet, have you tried calling them up?

I chatted with Emma but their like "oh there is no time frame" - maybe I will give them a call instead.

Yes I thought the time frames were 8 or so months so I was surprised to see the message about it being out of time frame so I wanted to make sure I hadn't missed something!

Yes you should do, it is on the K1 NOA2 for me (in the beneficiary box), looks like A### ### ###.

Thank you for your reply.

After I ready your reply, we realized that the USCIS never sent us our NOA2.

We contacted USCIS and asked to send us the NOA2 and they said it'll take them up to 30 days to let us know........

Like let us know if they can do that.

Unbelievable.

Nope... 🙃 I expedited again on Friday as they didn't provide an update. Supposedly it might help. I also asked for a Tier 2 agent to ring me back, which they said they will within 72 hours (usually). I expect I won't get a call back for atleast 7 days based on current delays.

It's really frustrating. Trying to stay positive but I'm worried I'm going to lose my job offer at this rate.

Shouldn't be this difficult to contribute some tax dollars to the US economy...  😕

All I want for Christmas at this stage is for my bio to be scheduled 😂 pls Santa. I have been so good!

Silly how long that is taking, especially because it prevents you from doing any expedites.

Does as anyone know how the work authorization work for k1 holders?

I was told that once I'm married and am on the US soil, I can apply and receive my work authorization in about a week.

If I understand correctly, if I apply for work authorization separate from i-495, the work authorization is only valid for the 90 days my k1 visa is valid for.

And then I'll have to file for it again for AOS?

But it takes like 10 months to get the work authorization while going through AOS right?

Any information is much appreciated!!!

I'm trying to gather as much information on this as possible.

Thank you guys!

Today I had my biometrics appointment and hours later my EAD was approved! 😃 The card is being produced. I am so happy! Hopefully everyone will get their approval soon too.

Congratulations! That is amazing!

Quick question, what was the status of the EAD ticker at the time you had your appointment? Was it in active review or was it Notice sent?

That is insightful! That probably means they don't need a whole lot of time to review and work on file once they have the biometrics!

Well, celebrate now!

I'm so impressed by and jealous of those folks who got EAD same day, I wonder why that happens for some folks and for others it takes months? They seem so random...
