Question about medical

I am a former cannabis smoker in a country where it has been legalized (Canada). I quit smoking around a year ago. I learned recently that during the medical exam if you state that you have ever tried cannabis they can subject you to a bar and make you take drug tests for a year to prove your sobriety.

Would it be a wise idea to get ahead of this and spend the next year while we await our NOA2 getting myself drug tested regularly in order to prove that I'm clean?

Not sure they will count that as you need to get it done at a designated Panel physician

I guess my hope would be that the designated panel physician at the time of my medical exam could see that I have made an effort to provide evidence to my sobriety as best I can, and see that I am not likely to smoke again.

Even if they decide to ignore it, it's probably worth the effort, no? I'm not sure what else I can do.

Agreed, it wouldn’t hurt. Just keep in mind that the CO has the final say on the matter

It’s worth every penny to get a private / confidential / privileged/ behind CLOSED DOORS consultation with a US Immigration Attorney …as you are currently on a very public forum.

If you have used marijuana, or worked in the industry, get a legal consult before leaving the United States or applying for naturalization or immigration status.

Very naughty and a clear breach of the VJ ToS but my impression is that one of the side effects is to forget you ever did it.

Otherwise this would be a common scenario?

Naughty Boiler!
