Has anyone had problems importing and registering their car that is financed?

Everything I’m reading talks about compliance letters (which I have) but I’m stumped on this part now.

does the fiance company know and allow you to take it out of Canada?

And does the motor vehicle department in the state of residence permit a lien holder from outside the USA?

forgot  to ask

who holds the titile

some US states hold it till the lien is paid off / some let the buyer hold the title but it lists the finance company as lien holder

what does Canada do?

if you don't have a title,  u would be able to register

If it is financed you need the loan company to put it in writing that you can import it. In all my years I have only seen it once where the finance company allowed it.

My finance company let me bring my vehicle across, but they had a US division and it wasn't dealership financed.  I wanted to bring a dealership financed vehicle when I came back the second time and that was a hard no, they would not allow it.
