You can go to CEAC website and check the status, but i was unable to create an account. My status says at NVC. I am not sure when NVC received my case. You only complete the DS160 when your case is ready at your consulate.

Your case number is based on the day it was received. Here is how you can find out the day it was received with your case number using the Julian calendar. I found this in the September NOA2 to NVC post.

82 days since NOA2 (Oct 18th) and no case number yet. I feel we’re close. Question to the group - I see expiration date on NOA2 of 17-Feb-2023 (4 months from approval). What happens if no case number by expiration date? Is this expiration date only until case is created? Do I need to worry if interview at Philippines US embassy happens in March after this expiration date?

I sent an email to the NVC to find out when they received my case. They replied with: “You will be notified once this case is forwarded to the assigned US Embassy/Consulate General.”

Does this mean my case was assigned a case number? I haven’t received the welcome letter, so I’m not sure if this was an error.

Sounds to me like we aren't going to get an update about it arriving/processed at/leaving NVC at all. I am expecting that the next update we are going to get is when our case is at the embassy/consulate.

Hello everyone, I received the NOA2 on October 13th and I've been sending public inquiries to NVC for a while. Their responses were same everytime, until now. Does this mean they created my case and will send the welcome letter in 2 business days?

Here’s what I submitted in my NVC inquiry…

 

“I understand that you have received my case from USCIS (received email on Dec 2nd via NVC previous inquiry). USCIS also confirmed they sent approval on Nov 9, 2022. Can you please check if my CASE # has been created and entered into the system? If yes, could you please provide me with the CASE #. Thank you very much for your support and help in this process.”

I just received the welcome letter and case number!! They said its sent to the embassy.

I got an email with my case number from NVC, saying that it is in transit now. When I go online to create a profile, it asks me for a “Priority Date”. Does anyone know where I can find this? Or what I should do next while I wait? I heard you can get most things done with the case number once you have it.
