What’s the procedure for helping my mum move to the USA

Hi there.

I am just about to complete my K1 visa journey and move to the USA. I am trying to find out how we would go about inviting my mum to live in the US too. She’s retired and my brother is also moving to the US, so it just seems right for her to come to the USA soon too!

Thanks for any help!

What visa will your brother use to move to the US?

He’s gonna be on a temporary religious visa.

is there a way for my wife to do it once we are legally married and I’ve got my green card?

No

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

That only applies to step-children, not other family members. Only US citizens can petition for parents and siblings.

Also, keep in mind the cost of moving an elderly parent to the US can be cost prohibitive because that parent doesn't qualify for government sponsored medical programs, so health insurance is entirely on you, out of pocket.  There are definite advantages to her remaining in the UK with the NHS readily available.
