My wife's GC will expire in 2 months.

She is eligible for applying Citizenship per the eligibility questionnaire in the USCIS website.
Also she will be changing the job and moving to a different state on the month GC expires.

  1. Should i apply for GC renewal or apply for Citizenship?
  2. If i apply for Citizenship , can she use the acknowledgement document(I979C notice for DL renewal and for employment )?

Any advice ?

If her gc is expired at the time she starts work and fills out I-9; then she needs to file I-90 to get an extension letter.  The expired gc plus extension  letter will let her file I-9.

Filing N-400 does not work around the I-9 requirement to show evidence of authorized presence.

How is she eligible for citizenship?  Has she been a legal resident for 5 years?

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yes, she is got her GC back on 2012 October and she was travelling on and off before.
From 2017 December onwards, she is here in US with less than 6 month gap.

Great!  Thanks for clarifying that for me.  Good luck.

In general, an applicant for naturalization must file his or her application for naturalization with the state or must have resided in that location for at least three months prior to filing service district that has jurisdiction over his or her place of residence.

so, if she moves,  she needs to establish her residency in the new state and after 3 months,  she can file for naturalization

OR

apply now in the current state and after moving send notice of change of address AR-11
