NVC DQ and asking for Joint Sponser for interview

 I needed to open a new topic about this issue to find answers.

I resubmitted on May 11 and an additional document on June 21 and this happened.

Today At 12:49am I got DQ from RFE from April 27 an resubmitted on May 11 and reviewed on July 13 without DQ. They also sent me an email that they will  schedule an appointment with the US Embassy/ Consulate General.

 

They also added a note the my case does not meet the minimum requirement for intending immigrant.  Doesn't make sense, my household on the application is 4, 2 minors from joint custody, my spouse and I.

 

My household is only 4 According to poverty guidelines for the lower 48 states and US TERRITORY, 125% for 4 is $34,687 and Im over $40,000+ according to my W2. I can even add a 5th person to my household. Why they didn't add this note on my first RFE on April 27 or July 13 when they reviewed the case without any DQ notice?

 Is this a error? Why is this going so hard on me? Is my case on hold until I submitt a joiny sponsor or will they send me

 

Who should I add as a joint sponsor  if so? My father is retired and receives social security and I can't seem to think of someone that I can add income as a joint sponer. She has siblings from her country,  I think it has to be from US. Am I right? I need some advise 😩 

 

Someone told me to wait for the interview without adding a joint sponsor and explain to them. That will be my wife since I can't go inside the interview.

Sounds like they have DQ'd your case.  It will be up to the Consulate Officer to decide if you need a joint sponsor.  If you are confident that you meet the requirement, then just be prepared to convince the CO.  If you have doubts, get a joint sponsor.

Yes I got DQ with FE saying that my income is not enough but that it is up to the consular officer to decide and also that may use a joint sponsor. " may" meaning if I want. My annual wage is over 40,000. I will have 4 in my household including my spouse. Thanks for your reply. Why will they say that my income is not enough 😒? The poverty guidelines is $34,000 for 4, Im above that.

34k is just a minimum, it doesn't mean one earning above 34k will be qualified blindly. Now sure if you are in lower 40k range or upper 40k range, NVC might have felt so from your past income history and a just bit over the requirement. A CO could ask for a joint sponsor after looking at the income and current income.

Sure ok.So CO could delay my spouse's visa if they ask for a joint sponser on the interview? Its been 13 years working for a state agency and they only calculated the gross payment, without the bonus and over time that will go over $45k. I already asked my uncle to be my joint sponsor; I will not risk or contend NVC since I have everything to lose. Thanks for the advise.

If you get the jpint sponsor papers etc all completed and your wife carries it with her to the interview, you will avoid delays. What you received is a standard letter that is triggered by all kinds of financial situations. We received the same rfe for our sons income when he was sponsoring us. He met the requirement but we got a joint sponsor anyway. IO determined the joint sponsor was not needed. Hopefully your outcome will be the same .. but you will have the “ answer” already in hand if it is not !

Ill add a joint sponser tomorrow even if CO says my income is enough . Im not going to risk any chances and I won't lose anything by adding my uncle who offered himself.

What made me think was that they sent me a notice on April, 27 and July 13 and never said anything about my income until yesterday. Our Embassy is Honduras. We hope we get the interview date soon.
