  1. I am a US citizen living and working abroad in Taiwan. My wife and I are seeking a CR1. I put $0 down on my i-864 since my current income will not continue once I move the U.S. I submitted last years tax transcipt and it was marked as accepted. All of the documents from our joint sponsor were also marked as accepted. Related to this we recieved 2 Case RE notes. First Case RE says that my income is not sufficient and that I could get a joint sponsor. An error on their end, should I just ignore it or reach out to NVC via the inquiry form to clarify? Obvious error but hate to just assume everything is ok. Second Case RE asks for me to submit MY evidence for income. Since I have a joint sponsor and my income is $0 from working overseas, I thought it would be irrelevant, so I only uploaded my tax transcript. What do you think they are looking for here? I can provide them my previous yearly official income summary. It is in both Chinese and English except for my address (hope I wouldn't need to deal with a translator for something so minor). I also have my monthly pay stubs but they are very unofficial (literally just a template from excel with numbers plugged in, looks fake if you didn't know any better). Or maybe they just want to know that my income will not continue once I move. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.
  2. For this tax year and last, I have about $300 in income. My parents (who I live with) are willing to sponsor. Would they be household members or a joint sponsor? What are the differences and what is the best option for us? Can you have a joint sponsor with someone you live with?
  3. Hi everyone, I am using my mom as a joint sponsor but I am having some trouble calculating her household size for the income requirement. I lived with my mom for half the year last year before I moved to the UK and so she claimed me on her 2022 taxes. Because she has done this does this mean I am considered apart of her household when determining the income level?
  4. I needed to open a new topic about this issue to find answers. I resubmitted on May 11 and an additional document on June 21 and this happened. Today At 12:49am I got DQ from RFE from April 27 an resubmitted on May 11 and reviewed on July 13 without DQ. They also sent me an email that they will schedule an appointment with the US Embassy/ Consulate General. They also added a note the my case does not meet the minimum requirement for intending immigrant. Doesn't make sense, my household on the application is 4, 2 minors from joint custody, my spouse and I. My household is only 4 According to poverty guidelines for the lower 48 states and US TERRITORY, 125% for 4 is $34,687 and Im over $40,000+ according to my W2. I can even add a 5th person to my household. Why they didn't add this note on my first RFE on April 27 or July 13 when they reviewed the case without any DQ notice? Is this a error? Why is this going so hard on me? Is my case on hold until I submitt a joiny sponsor or will they send me Who should I add as a joint sponsor if so? My father is retired and receives social security and I can't seem to think of someone that I can add income as a joint sponer. She has siblings from her country, I think it has to be from US. Am I right? I need some advise 😩 Someone told me to wait for the interview without adding a joint sponsor and explain to them. That will be my wife since I can't go inside the interview.
  5. Hi I am needing some help. I received an RFIE for my husbands I864 - it is asking for all the same information we had already sent them. and then Also and RFIE for my joint sponsors I864 again asking for the same evidence that was sent in the original packet. it also states that based on the sent documents that our joint sponsor isn’t qualified. She is an American citizen and earns over $70k well over the poverty line. So I’m unsure what they mean by this. Also we are now unsure if we need a joint sponsor as my husband earns over the poverty line this year. But hasn’t in his last 3 tax years. (This is why we originally had the joint sponsor as we thought it went by this.) but if we go by this financial year and send his payslips will we not need the joint sponsor? TIA
  6. Hey! How to proof relation between petitioner and joint sponsor, If joint sponsor is just your old friend. Any template or sample??
