Lost my marriage certificate

Hey guys, I was prepping documents for my N-400 interview and couldn’t find my original marriage certificate. Interview in 10 days. How important it to bring on the interview? Maybe copy will be enough? Or I have to obtain a new one? ( I applied based on 3 year marriage). Thaaank!

 if they asked for it on the letter, best to bring it. 

u can ask the city council or certain website ( depend on the states) to produce new one.

Copy will suffice. They already reviewed and verified the “ original “ when you did I-485.

As @Family said, they already have your original, so chances are you’ll be fine with a copy.  In my case, they didn’t even bother looking at it at all.  That being said, it won’t hurt to bring too much rather than not enough.

You are generally required to bring the original MC at the N400 interview especially if it's based on USC spouse. However all IOs may not ask for it. Even if asked and you show the copy, you may still be good.

 

You can try to walk in (if they allow walk-ins) to the city/county office who issued your original MC and get a certified copy.
