hello everyone! 
 

my husband entered the US on an IR-1 visa in 2019 from Morocco. we are confused on whether or not he needs to file form i-751. 
 

when I did a quick Google search, it said it’s for conditional 2 year visa holders. but, I see a lot of people on here who also have IR-1 visas that are filing this form.

 

please send advice and thanks so much in advance.

1.  When does his Green Card expire?  

"The US immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and a significant amount of money.  It is quite a journey!"

Senior Master Sergeant, US Air Force- Retired (after 20+ years)- Missile Systems Maintenance & Titan 2 ICBM Launch Crew Duty (200+ Alert tours)

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

It appears the 10 year green card was properly issued.  Thus, no I-751 is required.  Congratulations.

look at date on green card 

he might be able to apply for citizenship (depending on amount of time spent outside the us)

he came in 4/2019  , married 3 years to USC /  he should be eligible 

 

You may file Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, 90 calendar days before you complete your permanent residence requirement if your eligibility for naturalization is based upon being a: Permanent resident for at least 5 years; or. Permanent resident for at least 3 years if you are married to a US citizen.Jun 24, 2020
