Hello,

On our online petition, I submitted one 2x2 passport photo of myself and one of my spouse. I also cropped them using the USCIS photo editor and they were approved.

On the back of the photos, we each wrote our names (printed, not signed) and I uploaded those images of the backs of the photos against a black table. I did not use the crop tool on the backs of the photos with our names - should I have done this?

I keep reading to submit two photos each, but does this mean two photos of our faces, or one photo of each of our faces and one of each of our names on the back?

Thanks so much!

2 photos each means two showing your face. Yes, it's repetitive but this is USCIS

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Would it be okay to upload the same photo twice? Or does it need to be an entirely different passport photo? Thank you so much for your response!

Thank you for your response! Did you crop the back of your photos also? We have ours on a table, so the outline is clearly visible.

The requirement is that they meet the details for a US passport photo.  So face size, background etc meet the requirements.

Do the instructions for ONLINE filing actually require two photos and names printed on the back?  Filing by mail does mention those requirements but for at least a decade, one passport style photo has been acceptable, with name printed on the back.  Purpose of name on back is in case the paper photo gets lost.  Uploaded photos are already uploaded as petitioner or beneficiary, and the beneficiary photo is only required if they are in the USA at the time of filing.
