It is Ria Money Transfer, and is not a child support agency.

Does that transfer give you a record of it?

Umm no. GMC applies to everyone.

Kinda surprised at @Family for endorsing the above comment.

Not having an order with a specific amount of $ simply means you don't have to prove you paid/are paying the $ amount specified.

So if you have an order saying you must pay 100/month you must be able to show payments of 100/month or a lump sum/combined total of payments that satisfy the amount owed at 100/month for however many months it's been required to be paid.

If you DON'T have an order, again you are still required to show GMC. This simply means there is no specific amount required as in the example above.

One should never assume anything regarding immigration. Now everyone's situation is different but I don’t believe @Nancy r has anything to worry about. It appears she has been sending support as she can/as needed. She should bring proof of the money she has sent and if possible get a statement from the father and or son who has received it stating it was for child support.

The person who said they didn't ask about his son's support. Also failed to tell the OP what other issues his case had. It was either the son age played a part in the reason not to ask about it or the Officer was more focused on the guy's past.

Anyone who thinks this is not an issue. Should search past threads and see just how much this issue is real.

@Nancy r you have been sending money to help support your child. All you need is a record of it. If your ex is on good terms with you a letter from him would be great too.

Considering OP question was magnificently addressed by @Mike E( get letter from dad gather receipts) and I agreed and bestowed a little emoji.
@Adujarricshared his own experience with child support not in court order ( was not even asked), I agreed that is very often what happens, especially if divorce and child are not in the US and I bestowed a happy emoji to acknowledge.
I am not quite sure if the frowny emoji is angry or pouting, but I do like the laughing fellow.

I do agree my “ off the hook “ comment may have come across a bit callous or cavalier, but other than a possible Request for Evidence, in cases of overseas divorces AND overseas children, nothing much will happen .
