Hi there,

I filed jointly in may 2019, then updated my case to a divorce waiver in January of 2021, and had an interview in January of 2022. Basically 100% of my interview questions were about my relationship to my ex husband and what were the circumstances of our divorce, but my marriage was out of love so I wasn’t really worried about it. It all went well for me.
i don’t know if there ever is a set rule for uscis that applies to all similar cases :)

good luck to you!

i filed n400 in 2021 based on 5 year. they are both pending.

i'm wondering if the interview can be both for n400 and i751 at the same time.

i mean in my cases, do people get 2 interviews? because i751 can block the n400 if they have seperate interview.

i'm not worried about the interview, its just taking too long.

so in your case you didn't have n400?

did you have a pending n400 at the same time?

i have n400 pending too, so i'm wondering if these interviews are always combined? because they can't approve n400 without i751 first.

Nono I filed the n400 afterwards.  My I-751 was approved in 1/22 and I filed the n400 4/22 based on the 5 year residency eligibility.

but they do typically try to have a combination interview. So as long as you were indeed eligible to apply for citizenship based on your 5 residency then you can expect a combo interview.

Hi everyone, please guide me in this frustrating situation.

I learned that my i751(divorce waiver, potomac) is blocking my n400(florida) application. They are both pending

I751 - June 2020

N400 - January 2021

Most people who filled n400 months after me already got their citizenship.

When i call uscis, they don't say anything.

Anyone has any idea what to do if you were me?

Anyone knows a similar situation?

What would you expect to happen next in my case?

They can't adjudicate your N-400 with a pending I-751.

Never compare cases. Don't even bother. Your immigration case is unique to you.

  1. Where are you from?
  2. What visa were you on when you adjusted status?
  3. How long have you been married?
  4. Is your ex a USC by birth?
  5. Any red flags?

Those are key questions that would help understand your case better. Please answer here but also complete your timeline.

How'd you come to this conclusion? USCIS told you personally?

Hi everyone, i wanted to connect with people in similar experience.

i filed i751 after divorce in june 2020. potomac.

i filed n400 in january 2021.

many people filed n400 MONTHS after me already became citizen.

I was told they put me in line for interview for n400 in january but nothing

most people's i751 got transferred after they fill n400 but mine didn't get transfer

short story: i751 pending for 21 months - last update: fingerprints taken

n400 pending for 14months. - last update: fingerprints taken

i am convinced my i751 is delaying n400 combo interview.

anyone in same situation? or knows anything about what to do or expect?

You filed I-751 with a divorce waiver, correct?

And then you filed N400 based on 3-year rule, correct? Please clarify.

Otherwise, if my understanding is correct, you were not eligible to file N400 and it will be denied. You can only file based on 5 year rule.
