Good day VJ members,

I have a quick question so I'm hoping that someone here can help me.

I'm the petitioner do I have to attend the interview with my husband? Well we get denied or a ref if I don't attend? Thank you in advance

Petitioner doesn’t have to attend consular interview unless specifically told that petitioner has to attend  (and this is rare).  Generally embassies are trending toward not even allowing petitioners into the interview.  The interview appointment letter will say who besides the beneficiary is permitted.

If petitioner is  told to attend  and doesn’t then I would expect denial.

Not allowing petitioners in during the interview is not a "trend".  Allowing it is rare for the 17 years I've been around the system.  The vast majority of Immigrant Visa Units don't allow it because there isn't room for the extra people.  There are exceptions, and at least Ecuador where petitioner's presence is both allowed and highly advisable.  being nearby just in case, is great, but certainly not required.
