Because they may suspect that you entered with the purpose of getting married, adjusting your status and staying here, instead of just visiting and leaving.

Like I said, it’s not 100% guaranteed it will happen. I’m saying it might happen.

Interesting. People get married here on tourist visas right?

Why are you so worried about someone checking your phone? If what you say is true, and you had no intention to stay and adjust when you entered, you have nothing to worry about. Is there something on your phone that would say otherwise?

Not worried at all. There’s nothing on that

Then you should be good. I also got the vibe that you are worried your phone will be check. As far as I concern if you have nothing to hide, then you shouldn’t be worry. I personally even gave my phone if they ask

Well I was curious because I have pictures on it that I can show them but that doesnt seem professional. I am guessing they wont bother asking for a phone to view them. I can print stuff.

On the other hand, if they want to see your phone but you hand them printed stuff instead, they are going to want to see your phone even more. If that is your concern, then I’d save those pics somewhere else.

Is there a specific reason why you don’t want to answer where you’re from?

Nigeria, Ghana… mostly some african countries are considered high fraud

Ok. Just know that you’ll get much more valuable info if you shared your country of origin. People do it here all the time

How is your nationality "really personal" information? I can't think of many things that would be less personal.

Yes you are on the internet, talking to a vocal group of VJ Well Wishers , most of whom have faced very stressful journeys. All sharing their experience, opinions , at times warnings. Your initial post was about the presumption of immigrant intent scrutiny at AOS filing / interview.
Your follow up questions took a turn down the rabbit hole, so to speak..” what are the red flags for fraud “ ..

Yes.   But most adults have lives back home that do not allow them to simply not return for up to a year.  Hence the reason that most would plan for immigration, rather than just visit and spontaneously stay.

FYI, if you are thinking of working remotely in the US without a work permit, don’t.   You need a work permit to work whether in person or remotely for a foreign employer.
